A friend of ours is about to send out STDs (save the dates) for a New Years DAY wedding in the southern CA area. I'm very ^o) because it's not going to be on NYE which is going to be on a Saturday this year, and our friend's friends who are invited are a bunch of DINK sauce-bags (us included) who would want to celebrate NYE - especially if we are flying out to LA on vacation.
I'm waiting to receive the STD and to look at the wedding website before I clutch my pearls, but wondering what ya'll think (since it's a bit slow)
If its in the afternoon I mean I suppose I could see it. A lot of companies will give the 2nd off because NY is on a Sunday. I am assuming their logic is friends come in, rock out NYE, wake up late - afternoon wedding and party and then head home Monday.
That makes sense @aellasbeth. I'm so curious to what the B&G have planned. I know major $$$$ was spent on their Engagement party, so I'm thinking something especially $$$ will be in store for NY Day. But if you are spending $$$, why not just have the wedding on NYE, so I and other guests can wear something fun and sequin-y? Snotty, FWP here... lol

probably because they were looking at it from the other side of the coin and didn't want to have their friends give up NYE for a wedding, even a fun one... I don't know lol
It bugs me a little bit when people operate under the assumption that everyone has time off over the holidays. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind going to a NYD wedding, especially if there was a religious reason for having it not be on NYE.
