How do you set prices for baby gear? Everything is from late 2014-2015 and very lightly used by a non-spitty baby. (FTM who bought everything possible just in case lol. Some stuff has been only used 1-2 times). My dh is a clean freak so everything looks new and has the instruction booklets. Do you think trying for 20-30% of retail? I know we can get more from neighborhood b/s/t but I don't have Facebook and don't want to deal with craigslist.
We live in a newer master plan community that has 1 garage sale day a year. I assume there would be young families looking for baby stuff.
ETA- I meant to say 20-30% of retail price so like 70-80% off of retail. Promise I'm not delusional thinking people will pay a ton for used baby gear
I mean Kohl's and BRU has coupons so 20% - 30% off used seems like not the best deal. 50% is where I'd start and if you really want them off your hands even lower. Garage sales aren't about making money it's about getting rid of stuff for a modest profit.

You can try for 20-30% off retail, but I'd ignore and move on. I can easily buy actually new from the store for 20-30% off.
I'd probably start at 50% for new condition and expect to get less than that. You can usually sell for slightly higher on local B/S/T sites than a garage sale. You might also try consignment, but I don't really know much about that.
Yep. 70-80% of original retail is probably about right for gently used stuff.
ETA: For more expensive stuff that was barely used, you can maybe get away with closer to 45-50%. I'm thinking things like the darn $80 rainforest bouncer, could maybe go for like $35 (or you could price it for $35 and bargain down).
Timely post! Our town has a city wide yard sale at the park next weekend and I have a table. I'm going to sell all my gear and clothes and also toys. They advertise it city wide and it's only 3 hours, I'm having my dad and his girlfriend help but I'll need yo tag absolutely everything this week.
How do you guys price toys? We also have a bajillion stuffed animals I'd love to get rid of. Will anyone buy them?
How do these prices sound? I assume people will offer a bit lower the what is posted.

Going by my local prices I think you are a little low. Have you considered advertising the garage sale on your local facebook groups? I've seen people have good results by posting pictures of the big items the day of the garage sale.
I wish I was a new mom at your sale! Granted I'm coming from a canadian price perspective, but your suggested prices are insanely good. 4 year old Vistas go for $3-400 here!
Eta: I keep my new items in pristine condition as well and have easily gotten 40-50% of retail. I would mark your items a bit higher and let people know you're open to offers if they seem to be hesitating over an item.

I should have clarified the UBV is a 2012 . Handmedown from my sister since my nephew refused to sit in a stroller. I have a bob and a city versa so we don't need it.
Thanks for the advice! We are HCOLish so maybe I will price a bit higher and expect offers.
The vista and the Tripp Trapp I would definitely price higher. I've seen Vistas go for over $400 (although if it's pre-2015 maybe lower). I'd do $75 for the trip trap and $50 for the dex dreamer. $20 for the Puj, $50 for the PnP. $15 for MBF.
Vista and Tripp Trap I would def bump higher. $200 for the vista since its a 2012 and $75/$100 for Tripp trap would still sell in a minute in our area.

Thanks for the specific pricing help!
I'm just selling the baby seat attachment, cushion & tray for the Tripp Trapp. We are still using the actual chair. I plan on keeping that thing forever

I've actually sold several of these same items on local b/s/t boards
Ask $30 for the carseat bases, they'll sell, sold mine on Facebook and sold the Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat for $70 and the keyfit caddy for $50 (just to give an idea on pricing)
Swing - $45 and see what happens
Pack n play $45
The smaller stuff looks good like the bumbo for $10
Do you guys even go to garage sales? Those prices are not too low. Sure you would price higher for a specific baby gear sale or a b/s/t board or craigslist. But not at a garage sale. If you price high then you are just hoping the right MMMer shows up and knows what stuff is worth. But otherwise your casual garage saler is not paying $50 for a packnplay or $30 for a carseat base. You won't sell anything. Just my opinion but I am from a family of avid garaged salers, lol.

For clothes we did $1 for onsies, $1 leggings, $2 sleepers , $3 outfit sets. I only put out carters & baby gap. Keeping HA/Tea/BabyBoden to sell online. $3 each piece of maternity clothes.
The only things people offered lower were random household stuff like pots, placemats, picture frames. I was presently surprised. It was a long day. No way could I do Saturday too. Everything remaining will go to the goodwill.
