I feel so crafty and productive! Today is my dads birthday and Mother's Day is tomorrow. I made my dad a funny cross stitch and got a little area of my house decorated for my mom tomorrow. I also remembered to get my step mom and grandma cards and orchids which I will take to them today at my dads party. Pics of the cross stitch (I made to pattern based on his favorite bottle) and moms set up.
The weather is so nice, and I really meant to get outside and do the work in the garden that I've been avoiding, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen today, either. DH and I are going to a birthday party for SS#1 tonight, I have to touch up the color in my hair, and that takes about an hour. I also don't want to mess up my manicure that I just got.
My nephew was born yesterday and I am completely obsessed with him. I'm not a fan of babies, in general, but dear god. I can't get enough of this one. I actually missed him last night after I got home from the hospital, and couldn't stop looking at his pictures. I just got back from visiting again, and I already want to go back.
I hope my brother and his wife don't mind a new roommate because I'm about to move myself in to their house just so I can see this kid every day. I am in love. IN LOVE.

The F/D dance last night was a blast ! We weren't the only rebels as there was another mom/daughter duo there too ! We got home and dd promptly CRASHED
Pleasantly surprised to get a text at 3am ... BF touched ground safe n sound in Hamburg, Germany he'll be there the next MONTH > for business ...
We had a busy day today. My cousin tutored DD2 from 11-12:30, DD1 and I ran up to Target to get a bday gift, then DD1 had a haircut at 1. Then, we met my Dad for an early dinner (late bday dinner celebration for DD2), then home for DD1 to pack an overnight bag for a bday sleepover. Dropped her off, took DD2 to Toys R Us to spend the bday money my dad gave her today, then back home. And, in between all of this I've been doing laundry and trying to straighten up the house a bit. Now, DD2 and I are eating ice cream and watching movies. I promised her she could sleep with me tonight, which means I will not sleep well (she's a kicker and a mover).
Oh, and I bought DD1 her first 2 bras (at 9 years old). Granted, they are more like sports bras than a real bra, but still. She had been getting self conscious about being in a leotard for gymnastics, even though she's not even budding yet, but I figured she'd like them. And she did. She wanted to wear one to the sleepover today. I asked her if she was sure, but she insisted. I'm a bit worried though that the other girls might say some not so nice things if they find out. Fingers crossed all goes well.

DD has been wearing one since age 9 too. She's not heard any comments at all. It will be okay.

Thank you, I hope so. I asked her if any of her friends were wearing them yet and she said she didn't know. My friend's daughter, also 9, has been wearing one for about 6 months now. She told me several of her friends are too. Knowing this, and that your daughter is at that age too, I'm sure she's not the only one of her friends then.

At that age, my DD and her friends, thought bras were sooooo cool! No one needed one but they wore them and thought it was a big ol' deal! I remember them giggling and showing each other the shoulder straps cuz they were ladies

I asked her how it went and she said fine. The other girls knew, not sure if she told them or they saw, but she said it was no big deal. She even said the bday girl said her mom told her she should be wearing one but she doesn't.
sweetchix, glad the bra thing worked out. I thought it was so cool to wear anything that resembled a bra around that age. What the hell was I thinking? LOL As an adult, bras suck. Oh, to be a kid again.
