I'm FB friends with a girl I worked with in high school. She started dating a Marine two or three years ago. She moved out to 29 to live with him maybe 18 months ago? I posted about her here once because she said something along the lines of "I can't believe I'm the only SO in his unit who makes my Marine lunch everyday! These women are so lazy they don't even pack lunch! It only takes a minute!"
Well they just got married. And now she's bitching about Tricare.
She's like a perfect little newbie mil spouse beebee!
Huh. I've been married for over 4 years and my husband has never made me lunch. And he's not lazy. I think your friend needs to mover her views on marriage out of the 1950s.

Seriously.
I actually commented on that one. Something to the effect of "My husband loves me enough to not add to my already long list of things to do by asking that I make him lunch when he is an adult fully capable of doing it himself."
Huh. Of all the military things to complain about, Tricare seems like the strangest. I love it and never want it to go away! LOL.
Is she young? One of H's younger friends is dating a girl that just turned 21 and the lunch thing totally sounds like something she would say. She is FULL of advice on what MIL spouses should be doing.
No, she's a few years older than I am. So 31-32ish.
LOL. When my ex-H was in tech school, I'd make lunch every day and bring it so we could spend time together. I was unfortunately unemployed. There was another couple with a baby who did the same thing actually.
Once he got to his first duty station, I was employed within 10 days of moving there and the lunch train stopped. I did pack up dinner leftovers for our lunches the next day but that was about it. I never bragged about it on fb because... adulting.

Ditto. If it wasn't for Tricare we'd probably have over 100k in medical bills right now.
The only thing that gives me the slightest pause about H planning to leave the Army in 4 years (6 years before hitting his 20) is that we're going to have to pay for health insurance for the first time in our lives. Tricare is amazing.
And when he's actually here my H wouldn't want a lunch I packed anyway. He's way too good a cook (compared to me) to want me to prepare his midday food. Hell, I only make dinner most nights because he works late.

Ditto about the getting out and tricare. It really scares us if we decide for him to get otu abotu health care. Which is honestly one of the biggest reasons we are even considering him staying till 20. However he doesn't want to do enlisted 20 so we are waiting to hear back from his warrant board which starts next week. if he doesn't get warrant then he will be getting out in 2.5 years. He may go reserve though.

As much as I love the coverage Tricare provides, their customer service is laughable. We've been on autopay for years. A few months ago we got a notice saying our coverage was cancelled for non payment and wanted like $400 to reactivate it. Well the payment came out as it always had. I called them and they swore it wasn't received. I offered to fax them bank statements showing it cleared. They told me they wouldn't accept it.
About 6 calls and several hours later, they found the payment but claimed I manually called it in and paid under my dads ssn for a payment for my brother. My brother then calls and offers to show proof that his payment was also taken via autopay. It was such a debacle I was thisclose to saying refund my payment and we'll get insurance through H's work.
Wow...that got long lol. But that whole ordeal was beyond ridiculous.

We're waiting on Warrant board results too! What's his MOS? Fingers crossed for both of us! (Unless they're vying for the same position... ;-) )

350f. I know there is a shortage of them so he should hopefully get it we will see. They could decide he isn't warrant material or isn't competitive enough. He had a hard enough time getting his packet ready (though he decided like 2 weeks before the due date to go for warrant lol) they kept kicking it back saying something was wrong with his recommendations but wouldn't say exactly what. Good luck to your husband.

My DH is going for the 915 series. They are short too. Good luck to your husband!

Apparently the list came out did your h make it? my H packet didn't get past proponenet because of his letter or rec was not from someone at his current base even though he was told that was okay because he knows no one at his current base that could write his rec.

I'm sorry to hear that! Hopefully he gets picked up next time!
