Anyone done it? Doing it this year? DH and some college friends signed up yesterday and we booked plane tickets because they were dirt cheap. I'm excited for a long weekend in DC but now I need to figure out where to stay. Suggestions?!

I haven't paid as much attention to the details of Metro closures and service restrictions, but with all of the work that Metro plans and needs to do to the rail system, I would suggest booking a hotel in Crystal City or Pentagon City so that you aren't dependent upon the Metro to get you to the race. There are a variety of hotels in the area.

Gaahh! I forgot about the closures! Thanks for reminding me!

Also, I'm soooo not participating, just DH and some of his friends. That's about 9 miles more than I prefer lol

Yep, Crystal City would be convenient :-). But could be expensive on race weekend. When I did MCM (lol, like almost a decade ago) they had metro busses running from some places too....so maybe check the race website and metro website to see what's running from where :-)

Another good suggestion. They have a block of rooms at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, so I'm guessing that's where we'll end up. Two r/t plane tickets are cheaper than one night there! It will be fun either way, we haven't seen some of these people for 5+ years!
