I'm going in two weeks. I only have one or two pairs of shorts because I don't like them. I run, so I have workout capris and a running skirt. I also have some casual skirts and a maxi skirt.
Would skirts work?
For shoes I'm guessing running shoes and maybe my toms are going to be my best bet. What do you wear?
I would lean towards capris/shorts because I think I'd find it easier to get on/off rides in them as opposed to a skirt. But that's just me.
It should be pretty hot weather-wise, so keep that in mind. For shoes, I always wear sport sandals because I find running shoes and socks too hot. Also if you go on anything that might get you wet, sandals might make more sense. I know a lot of people go the running shoe route, though.
Wear whatever makes you comfortable. I have seen it all.
At this time of year I wear anything that isn't going to be too hot, because it is hot here. For me that means shorts, capris (although my workout capris are too hot), loose, lightweight long pants, or dresses with some stretch shorts underneath, because climbing in and out of rides is not always a ladylike endeavor. Or maybe that's just me. lol
I can't wear my Toms to WDW, because there is no support or cushion. I wear them a lot at other times, but going to the parks is a whole different thing, and my Toms just don't cut it. I wear Orthaheel flip flops or sandals most often, since they are super supportive and comfortable...and don't make my legs tired or hurt my feet. My sneakers are just too hot unless it is winter. Can you tell that I haven't gotten used to the heat here yet? We've lived here 3 years, and air conditioning is my friend.
I wear flip flops at the park. I don't find anything else comfortable for tons of walking.
For clothes I am bringing a few sundresses but mostly shorts, tank tops, and workout clothes. Anything sweat wicking is good--it is beyond hot in the summer.

For flip flops - something like Reefs or Sanuks? Or is there another brand you would recommend?
Flip flops are my summer go to, but they are like the $1 old navy pairs, so I need to upgrade.

Usually Sanuks or Tevas are good and comfortable for me.

If it's warm, I wear my running clothes (shorts or running skirt and a tank). They're cool, breathable, and comfortable. I wear my running shoes for walking around.
I haven't gone when its been super hot, but I wore capris or jeans and a t shirt with my skechers.
I'd die in jeans in Florida in the summer! Die! I'm sweaty just thinking about it, lol.
It's a shame because they are so easy.
Yeah, I have never gone as an adult in the summer! Both times, it was in February. I do remember going in August as a teenager and just wanting to die in shorts and a t shirt. lol
So far I've been wearing shorts and t-shirts with supportive sneakers, but after reading this thread I'm going to look into getting some moisture wicking clothing because we usually go in May when it is hot/ humid. I'll look into athletic sandals if I can get some that still have a lot of support. I have plantar's fasciitis and we usually stay in arks about 14 hrs so I need very supportive footwear.

Another thing that helps with the heat is to use those cooling cloths that you soak in water. We keep ours in a ziplock bag and just use that to put the water in to soak them. It is amazing how much that helps.
If I hadn't bought some at Lowes when they were half off at the end of summer last year I might have bought some at Sport Authority the other day...they are 30 or 40% off there, but will likely go down more soon. I like to keep extras around for company, because it can be miserable here in Central FL.
I usually go with very thin tank tops or under armor tanks with Nike shorts or lacy type shorts. I want to be covered but as little clothing as possible that breathes well. I live in Orlando so that is pretty much my casual summer outfit. I wear Sanuk flip flops for shoes and never have issues
I saw people in shorts, long pants, maxi skirts, jeans. Whatever works for you. I was comfortable wearing shorts or yoga capris , cotton tees. As for shoes, I alternated between my sneakers, Gizehs, and flip flops. My feet hurt the most on the day I wore flip flops for MK.
I'm at Disney this week and I have been wearing workout capris and a tee shirt. I am alternating between tennis shoes and Clarks sandals for footwear. We were at Magic Kingdom for almost 15 hours yesterday and my feet are killing me! I would have died in jeans during the height of the afternoon heat
Today we were at Epcot, and we saw every kind of outfit imaginable...even jeans. It was 91 when we left at around 2:00. I have no idea how the people in jeans could stand it.
There were a lot of shorts, dresses and skirts....quite a few running skirts.
Tennis shoes were by far the most popular shoes.
I realized today that I am actually cooler if I cover up a little rather than have a lot of skin showing. I have a Travelsmith vest (with a zillion pockets and built in sun protection) that I wear when I don't want to bring a purse, and it really seems to help keep me cooler with the collar keeping the sun off my neck. I even wore a 3/4 length sleeve top (loose-ish) because I have a big, painful and ugly bruise on my upper arm (from stupidly running into the latch on the back gate not once, but twice this past week), that i wanted to cover up, and it was more comfortable than when I wore a tank top a couple of weeks ago. I tend to have problems with the heat (it is my kryptonite), but we actually came home and did some yard work instead of just fizzling out and crashing on the couch in front of the TV like I usually do after being out in the heat for any length of time.
I'm going in 4 months so I just started taking inventory. I've been buying a few items from Athleta - summer dress, tank tops and their everyday capri. I'm not really a shorts person, so I'll be bringing summer dresses, skorts (found a great one at Costco) and capris with tank tops. I only wear 1 sandal in summer or on vacation, Madden Girl Boise, looks identical to the Gizeh but has foam instead of cork.
We were there a few days ago. It was low to mid 90s the whole time. I wore shorts and a tank most days (casual tanks) with my running sneaks. One day, I did a sundress (w/ workout shorts underneath) and Chucks (this was at Animal Kingdom, so the shortest and lightest walking day - I couldn't have handled Chucks any other day).
There were people dressed in just about everything you could imagine. Yoga capris, shorts, skirts (fancy or casual), tanks, cropped tops, tees.... wear whatever is comfy.
