How bad would crowds be at Disneyland July 7-9? Thursday through Saturday? I mean, I know it's going to be crowded but is it the worst thing ever? Should I consider it or avoid at all costs?

Weekdays in the summer are busy but its not as crowded as the weekends. It will be HOT in the parks unless we get some weird cold spell this July.
Those days are blackout dates for the SoCal AP so that will help reduce the crowds.
I avoid going in the summer but it has more to do with the weather than the crowds. I hate being hot so I try not to visit the park when the weather is broiling.

I know Orlando is hot in July but I thought that part of California is like low 80s and nice because you don't have the humidity. I have been tentatively thinking about going to Disneyland this summer, but not if it's going to be HOT.

It is definitely not Orlando hot, and usually cools off nicely when the sun goes down, but it can be quite warm, and a lot of lines for the rides are at least partially outdoors. I think the past 5 years or so that July has been warmer than usual, but maybe it is my imagination. We used to have cool foggy days in July, where the heater might kick on (I lived a little up the coast, but fairly close), but not the last few years we lived there. June, particularly the first part, can be foggy and cooler.....my favorite time is "June Gloom".
That time of year the weather is usually mid 80s and I often find it's a bit chilly in the morning, though I tend to be colder than most people. It can feel quite warm in the afternoon.
It is generally very crowded in July. If you can get up early, it seems to be much, much less crowded in the morning. By the afternoon it's pretty packed. We usually go back to the hotel pool in the afternoon to avoid the crowds and the heat.

Anaheim is inland and is hotter than the coast. Average temps in July are 87F with no air movement in the park; the lack of breeze is what makes it hot. While the humidity isn't the same as Orlando it is still hot compared to the coast. Last summer the temp in July ranged anywhere from 76-93F in a 10 day period. Mornings and evenings are cool so if you work it right and hit up the park early and then go spend time at the pool in the afternoon and head back into the park around sunset you can avoid most of the heat.
WDW is set up to deal with the heat and DLR really isnt. DCA lacks shade because the trees are still maturing. Since we dont have 'weather' out here most of the lines are out in the sun so it can get a bit toasty while you wait for some rides.
