I'm looking for recommendations for a travel cosmetic bag for our upcoming cruise. One that can hold a lot (no, I'm not bringing my WHOLE collection), and preferably unfolds and will hang up.
It doesn't unfold and hang up, the the Vera Bradley blush and brush makeup bag is really awesome. I have the regular size (smaller one) and it's great for basic travel, but I wish it had a couple more brush slots. You might prefer the large case for this though. It can apparently hold a clarisonic along with all your makeup and stuff. www.verabradley.com/product/large-blush-brush-makeup-case/alpine-floral/1003733_203325.uts
Other than that, I have found some awesome cosmetic bags at target.

I love the one from llbean. It's thr toiletries bag for $30. I can't link, sorry. It has a ton of pockets as well as a removable insert. And you can wash easily if something spills.
I personally prefer using several small bags versus one big one because I'm a super light packer and it's easier to shove small bags in nooks and crannies. However for something like you want I'd check out the Rack or TJ Maxx. They always have tons of cute bags.

I've got my eye on the Sonia Kashuk Weekender Bag since it has smaller removable sections. I saw Emilynoel83 do a review with the bag in it and I need it now, lol.
I STRONGLY recommend one that hangs. I have a few train cases, which I like because of the brush organizers, but a bag that doesn't hang takes up counter space- which can be an issue in hotels and will definitely be an issue on a cruise.
I've been through several options, because I travel a lot and am picky, but the Tumi folding bag is the best option I have found. I travel about 1 week/month for work, and just got back from 3 weeks in Europe, and this has seen me through everything with no problems at all- nothing falls out, gets damaged, or doesn't fit - and it is SUPER organized for when I am in a rush. The pink version has been discontinued but it was still available on Amazon, discounted, earlier this year.
These photos aren't the best, but the show how organized this is.
Zipped up- there are two exterior pocket where I keep hand sanitizer, contact lenses, cotton swabs -- anything I might want while in the air.
Interior pockets, with divider, where I keep my travel makeup brushes (I either stick them in a cup if staying in one place for a few nights or just work with them directly in the bag if not).
Second interior pocket with shampoo, conditioner, CC cream, etc. And travel razer.
Upper pocket holds two pallets. I did have to depot a Naked 3 into a medium Z Pallete to fit the space, but then I had room for a few extra colors and bronzers.
Bottom pocket unzips so you can carry your makeup with you during the day if you are so inclined (I keep another, smaller, makeup bag in my purse with smaller products, so I never do, but it's a nice option).
