Long time BNOTB lurker

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for quite some time, but have always been afraid to post because I have severe Social Anxiety Disorder and even posting on a message board was a scary thought. This is my very first post on any message board ever.

A little bit about me: My husband and I have been together for 11 years, but only married for one. We don't have kids. We have one fur baby, our beautiful 16 year old cat Annie. She is very kitten-like, very playful and vibrant. My husband and I work from home which is very nice. We live in Florida. I'm originally from Chicago. I love bacon. I like Peeps. I'm indifferent to Snuggies. My favorite food is Mexican. And if you want to know anything else; ask away.

OPS, I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't drink wine. I can't drink any alcohol actually. I hope you all don't hold it against me.

Ala, Annie is short for Anonymous. I named her Anonymous because she didn't have a name for the first year of her life when she belonged to my ex-bf's mother. We don't go out to the movies very often. So, the last movie we saw in a movie theater was Cowboys and Aliens last August for our six month wedding anniversary. We both enjoyed it. I'd like to go see Dark Shadows at some point. We love Tim Burton movies. We do most of our movie watching on Netflix.

We moved from Chicago to Florida for work. We were planning to move back to Chicago at some point, but we just can't take those Chicago winters anymore. 80 degrees every day has spoiled us.

Louietunes, the truth of the matter is, I have to open all of Ala's posts, even if there is a boring subject title, because I know she'll say something funny. Sometimes it's ha-ha funny and sometimes it's uh-oh funny. I also enjoy her Giovani the ghost stories. Ala, any new stories to tell? And to answer your other question, my DH and I disagree on that. I want to be a never-ever, and he wants kids. But, he told me that we'll always be together even if I never change my mind.

Bridey, we live in Southwest Florida, in Sarasota.

Lizo11, my favorite drink is water. I know, boring, but nothing beats water for me. My DH jokes that at restaurants he worries that the waitstaff will think that he's cheap when he says, "I'll have a coke, and she'll just be having water." lol

Otter, thank you. I agree, my kitty is very pretty. She is 6 pounds of itty bitty pretty kitty. Otters - cute. Amaretto sours - sorry. I did like Amaretto back in the day.

Lucky, DH didn't have a cane, but boy does he love his top hat, especially since it's collapsible. It cost more than his tux. He also had a pocket-watch and tails on the tux. If he could get away with it, he would want to wear his top hat all the time, but I'm the party-pooper and I tell him that it doesn't go with everything. lol

Nah we won't hold it against you that you don't drink alcohol much. Just because most of us are lushes doesn't mean everyone has to be. As for the water, cold or room temperature? And I hear you at restaurants, I will also usually order water, because I don't really drink soda and hate iced tea.

yes, this! Thanks for coming back to answer the questions, I am with you about the winters. I am a wussy when it drops to temps in the 30s/40s here, I couldn't imagine dealing with the ice and snow all the time like up north! I'm definitely a southerner when it comes to weather preference, as I'll take the extreme heat over extreme cold any day.

I live in the Gainesville area of Florida.
I also just drink water at resturants, but I make it all fancy get and a slice of lemon it in.
