So, I go to leave for work this morning and find out that my car was towed. It was my fault, but ugh. I'm so mad!
Necessary info - In my apartment complex, you either have to have a resident tag to park in the main parking area, or you need to park in a visitor spot. I have a garage space, so I don't have a resident tag (they don't want people who have garage space to park in the lot either).
I'm moving in a month, and when I got home from work last night I parked in the lot because it's closer to my apartment and I was unloading boxes so I could start packing. I made a few trips, and after my last trip inside, I just got busy and forgot to move my car from the parking lot into the garage. Completely forgot.
I go outside to leave for work this morning and my car is gone. I had to think if I moved my car or not last night, and realized I never did. Ugh.
So I call an Uber, get to the tow yard, and it is like murder central in there. There were bras hanging from the ceiling in the garage! I was actually nervous, and my Uber driver was like "soooo, this is interesting..." It was so bad that my driver actually WAITED for me to get my car back (thank god).
Anyway, I know my car being towed was my fault, but man...That feeling of walking outside to where you THINK your car last was, and not seeing it there anymore? Yeah, not a great feeling.
$180 later...I have my car back, and I did not get murdered at the tow yard. I do want to say something to my leasing office about the towing company they've chosen to use to monitor the lot. I mean, how unsafe would you feel walking into a garage where they have bras hanging from the ceiling? I was seriously uncomfortable.
I also have had the experience of walking out to where you thought you left your car the night before, and not finding it there. Glad yours was just towed, and not stolen!
