I've been MIA lately, but today I just can't focus!
My work BFF had to put her dog down unexpectedly today. I want to do something thoughtful, but all I can muster up is a hug, but I can't hug her because she's not here.
What do you do for someone who just lost their furbaby?

When that happened to us years ago, the extraordinary BNOTB ladies here sent us a basket of cookies and flowers, which was a very sweet gesture that we certainly weren't expecting.
I have sent a card to someone before, they actually do have pet-loss cards in our stores here.
My mom lost one of her furbabies last year and I ordered a hand-painted ornament from Etsy that had a painting of her dog (from a photo I emailed to the Etsy seller) and had her name on it, with a message about leaving pawprints on our hearts (or something like that). It was a "rainbow bridge" type ornament listing on Etsy, but they had a lot of other things like that without being a Christmas ornament, if you want some ideas. Of course, it may take over a week to get something like that, but it would still be pretty special to her if it was personalized for her pup.
Sorry she had to deal with that, it's so hard losing a pet suddenly and unexpectedly.

OrangePixyStix, that gives me an idea! Thank you! I'm not sure if I can afford it, but she told me a few years ago that she wanted a Dean Russo, so I'm looking into that.

Oh, good! You may be able to find something comparable for sure, even if it's not a real Dean Russo!
Good luck, I'm sure whatever you come up with will be heartfelt and she will appreciate it all the same!
When our boy passed away and I was hysterical, I honestly didn't want to see or talk to anyone but MH. All of the cards I received really touched me though. I would suggest a card with something very heartfelt written inside.
