But, the jingling that would happen every time I open and close the door would make me nervous. How does the jewelry stay still?
Well the mirrored door has a magnet so it stays closed. It also has some sort of velvety material that it's lined with. I'm hanging it on the inside of one of my closet doors so the opening/closing won't be too excessive. I already have a full-length mirror on the inside of that door so I'm just replacing it with one that stores jewelry.
Yeah, but does it have a device to keep everything still? Like a strap for the necklaces or something? I can imagine it all falling into a heap at the bottom every time you close the door.
I am not being critical, I am just curious. I don't really have jewelry boxes, so obviously I am clueless.
polarbear - It's 4' long so it looks like it can be about 12" on the right side and even longer on the left side with shorter necklaces or bracelets above. If I have to, I'll double wrap them on a hook.
brandie - I'll find out for sure when I get it. The necklaces are on hooks so that will in theory keep them on. The earrings go through holes and you can fasten the backs on to keep those in place. The rings are squished in so those shouldn't move. I'm hoping to put studs in the ring holder as well. The bangles have little bins and are angled upwards so I'm hoping they'll stay put. The unit can be fastened to a wall too. I don't have a walk-in closet right now but if I get one again I'll probably put it inside on the wall. A reviewer said she put a nail through the bottom right corner inside to keep it from moving at all on her wall.
