Has anyone taken thier kids? DH has looked into it some today and really wants to take DD. We happen to be in FL right now and the park is about 2 hours away. He really wants to drive over for the 1st haircut experience and he is a total Disney enthusiast so it's really intriguing him.
Think it's worth a 2hr drive and $25? Our friend is a cast member and entry would be free. DD is 15 months old.
Well my kid got the haircut from hell there so..... I'm vain and cried for like 12 years over it.
Oh my! It was that bad? I'm worried they are going to chop off her curls in back so I feel like if it's not perfection I will be pissed. She's also insane so there's that....
We would only be at the park for a few hours. Get there when it opens and leave about 1 or 2.
If your kid will sleep on the drive back, I would say yes. Because getting into the park for free is huge.
She would definitely sleep, both there and back. We are on PST so everything is wonky for us with sleep. Our friend would hang with us and take us on a few things she would be able to enjoy and then we would leave. The reservations for haircuts are full but he's thinking we could be worked in if we arrived first thing.

The lady did not know how to cut curly hair. I said take off like basically nothing. (DD2 got some long hair by her ears cut and I knew my oldest would be upset if baby sister got her first hair cut before her so that's why I had both get their hair cut) the lady chopped all these random bits off before my husband could even ask what she was doing. She cut off multiple inches and then didn't even cut other pieces. So it was basically just random strands of long hair mixed in. It was horrible. Basically my kids will never get hair cuts again. I'm seriously scarred. It's been almost 2 years.

We had a great experience! DS got the first haircut package and DD got a regular cut. They both have curly hair and my one instruction for DS was to leave some curls. They were able to follow that instruction. DD enjoyed getting pixie dust in her hair after the cut.
DS was apprehensive at times (he was 16 months) and did not like it when they put the first haircut ears on him, but overall no regrets.
Did you check to see if they have openings? I tried booking three weeks in advance and they had no openings. You can make reservations on the same number you call for dining--I think it's 407-WDW-dine.

We had a 5:30 appointment and went right at park opening and they fit us in. It was quick and painless for us and we got some great pics. I would go just for the free entry.
I did this for DS at 13 months. I will post pics tomorrow. It was adorable.
Did he sit still for it? My kid is almost a year and I don't know how I'd talk him into sitting there lol. We are going in Dec so he'll be 18 months, my H wants to do it then. Even then I'm wondering if he'll sit still.
Yes. He started to cry, but she had a bubble gun and a spinning light up Mickey and she covered him in Mickey Stickers. It took like 5 minutes and he was so happy to play with all her toys.
This is after the haircut. They give you first haircut ears.
