I'm watching the episode where Anna's sister gets married and how they "court". They said they save everything including the first kiss for the wedding day.
Isn't that a bit overwhelming for a girl? I mean she's going to get her first kiss, first boob felt, first everything all in one day? I wonder if the girls ever just freak out on their wedding night and want to wait a bit. Then I picture the guy getting kind of pissed because he waited so long for sex and now he has to wait longer.
I just can't imagine getting my first kiss and having sex all on the same day. What's so wrong with letting these poor girls kiss before they get married?
I have friends that court this way. A friend of mine just started courting his girlfriend on Saturday and if everything works out they will be engaged by the beginning of October.

Omg. I need to know all abut this. How old are they? 18? This is strange and fascinating to me.
The Duggars use the word "court". They just described it in the show. It's developing your relationship without the physical stuff so that you are pure when you are married.
If you've kissed a boy you ain't pure y'all! Tainted goods. No man will want you.

They do use the word court. And they don't do anything before they start courting and no sex or kissing until they are married. Normally they go from courting to engaged to married within about 3-4 months time. Most of them also have large families. My friend that just started courting his girlfriend is 23 and she is 23 and has a 2 year old son. Theirs is quite a bit different from the norm but still he hasn't done anything other than hold her hand.
I googled and it looks like Anna's sister is 26. 26 and will be getting her first kiss and first penis on the same night. Poor girl. I wonder if she got an upgraded purity ring like Jessa Duggar did.

He won't because it's against everything his family has taught him even though she has already done it. His family loves her and her son though. I have a feeling they will be married before Thanksgiving.
I have family that operates this way. There's a chance there might be some kissing before marriage, but that's it. Also, we never even know when any of them have a significant other. We just get the wedding invite.

I am fascinated by this whole concept. Unrelated, but I can't stop thinking about that couple that had their first kiss on that show Virgin Diaries, and how horrifying it was.
This is the book on 'courting' that was big in my Southern Baptist youth group in high school. I read it and was like WTF. It kind of marked the beginning of me leaving the church.

The mormons do this too but i think you can kiss. My in laws all got married within a few months of meeting, excepting my oldest bil but they had to wait for temple recommends.

Yeah my parents wanted me to read this as well. Thank you but no. I think my mom about died when I moved in with DH before we were married. It was a travesty, ya'll!

This made my vagina clamp shut. Why would anyone want to get to second base with kissing like that?
Why all the worry about the woman being freaked out about their honeymoon night? What about the guy? Performance anxiey anyone?
I worked with a guy who wouldn't do anything before marriage besides hold hands, a quick hug, and a peck on the cheek. One day he told me how he messed up over the weekend and felt tons of guilt and had to go talk to his minister. He kissed his girlfriend's neck a little bit, got all heated up, and freaked himself out. He was a nice guy, but a bit intense for me. He was conservative Christian. Baptist I think.
I know a girl who is 22, in college, and has had a boyfriend for 2 years. They did nothing but hand hold for the first year and now I think they're up to hugging and quick pecks on the cheek. She is waiting for her wedding day. She's not a conservative Christian or anything else, it's just what she wants. She's the very innocent, naive type.
