M had her first swimming lesson on Saturday, and B came with us. DH stayed with M and watched her take her lesson, and I went into the pool with DS. It was fun, but getting those kids to leave was a nightmare. Both were losing their ever-loving minds. Good thing we'll be able to stay longer next time, and DH will be getting in the pool too.
DS is getting so verbal - copying everything we and DD say - it's super cute. DD is getting philosophical and it's funny to see where her little mind goes. Last night we had a big discussion about how our bodies grow and how it's good to grow up because that's how we learn and grow and become the best people we can be. It was actually a really nice conversation and it felt like I was really a mom.
ilovebed, how are your girls? karebear219, how are you holding up? I've been thinking about you. shevacc, it's nice to see you around here again! How are your kiddos and pregnancy going? spunbutterfly, how are you feeling these days? jennlin, thinking about you! How are things?

I'm hanging in there. Life is back to normal for the most part. As much as I am sad it also feels really good not to be pregnant any more. I am eating all my favorite foods. I am getting some really good work outs in. It's helping my mood and helping me move past things. Working out has made a huge difference. Focusing on the positive. I didn't realize how much stress the whole situation was causing me until now.
Haven't keep down food in four days. Got Hg "crackered" by my practices nurse and an ob friend. Passed my gd test but because my fasting number was the highest normal I got diagnosed with gd and have to meet with a dietician. L O fucking L.
So...the food you can't keep down is now supposed to be high in protein? Since the type of food you're not eating makes a difference? I'm sorry!
We're doing well. I'm mostly feeling better/no longer nauseous and most of my aversions seem to be less frequent.
Our biggest news is that earlier this week G was accepted into a clinical trial for a peanut skin patch to partially desensitize her to peanuts and lessen the severity of her nut allergy. She starts it next week, though could still get the placebo. In order to get accepted into the study we had to spend 2 days at Seattle Children's Hospital, and had to trigger a severe reaction in her. Turns out somewhere between 1/10 and 1/2 of a peanut will cause G's throat to swell and for her to break out in full body hives. After a shot of epinephrine in her thigh, 2 large doses of Benadryl, oral Zyrtec, oral steroids, and enough time for the medicines to work she was stable again. Hopefully we'll see a much less severe reaction in a year.
G just started swim lessons last week and is loving it. I just figured out I can take X to tot and me swim at the same time as G's lessons so we'll do that this summer.
X is suddenly using sentences and tons of (nearly incomprehensible) words. His favorite phrase is "I got it". Yesterday evening he asked me for blueberries and raspberries after dinner. It's so cool being able to have conversations of sorts with him.

When are the swim classes? Do you think they are actually learning to swim at HZC? I haven't even considered swim lessons b/c I assumed that's what they were learning once a week at school.
Things are going well with us. J picked up a little cold that E has had for a while. I'm hoping it passes quickly. It's really hard to breast feed a baby who has a stuffy nose. Poor thing. I think her digestive system is maturing b/c her gassiness is subsiding, thank goodness. I'm taking the day off of work tomorrow to go to port Townsend with my Dad and J. He gave me 2 day's notice of a 2 weeks visit at the same time as my inlaws so I told him he had to stay at my Gmom's house and unfortunately I haven't seen him very much so I'm going to make time tomorrow for him. He's really old school and not at all helpful with the kids. I had him over for dinner on Tuesday and he immediately fell asleep on the couch while I'm trying to take care of a fussy baby, entertain E, and make dinner for us. Then when he woke up he just wanted to watch news and sports instead of playing with E. It broke my heart b/c while he was sleeping she put together 8 puzzles by herself to surprise him when he woke up and he barely acknowledged her. I don't even know why he came to visit. I mean, I know he likes to be around the kids and to see them. But he doesn't really like or know how to interact with them so it's really not helpful to me at all. Meanwhile, my inlaws are saints and have been sitting on my couch for 5 solid hours every day this week playing with J so I can work. It's actually making me jealous b/c I can hear them and she sounds so sweet and smiley.

It's the ones through the parks department. The summer ones are Tues/Thurs evenings (5:40-6:10 I think?) starting in mid-June. I assume swimming at HCM is mostly water familiarization/pool play wearing life jackets rather than independent swimming since they have so many kids at the same time. G's obviously more comfortable in the water than the other kids in her class, so I think HCM's weekly swimming has helped her that way. Though she won't get her face wet so we still started her in level 1, hoping she'll be in level 2 by June. I'm hoping these lessons help her actually learn to put her face in the water and swim independently eventually.

My dad can be like this too. He would sit on the couch and play on his smart phone then not understand why the kids didn't interact with him. My mom had to tell him to try picking up a book or a toy, or anything other than his phone. I hope you have a good visit tomorrow.
