I have headphones IN with MUSIC playing!  It's that loud.  It sounds like she is trying to be as loud as she can.

When I get irritable, I get snarky. I'd probably TRY to ask her nicely to please not slurp her soup but would probably fail and come out as "You know, in American culture, it's considered very rude to slurp. I realize in some cultures it's a sign of respect to the cook, but not here."

Is this a coworker? The guy who sits behind me chews so loudly, with his mouth open, all. the. time. On Monday he was chewing gum so loudly I had to walk away (and I have headphones to put in too!).
