Neither of us has an account right now. Should I sign up and give him a referral code? lol. Or do you only get the referral credit after you've actually UBERED.
No. You should sign up using my referral code and you'll get $20 off your first ride. Then, once you sign up, you'll have your own code to give DH for his first $20 off. And after his first ride YOU'LL get credited another $20 ride. So, 3 rides free (assuming they're less than $20). (full disclosure, I'd get $20 too once you did your first ride).
Holy shitballs. I just checked the price from my house to Busch Stadium and it's insane. In fact, uber won't even take me there, but lyft will. For about $100. Midwest suburbs, you are the worst (Burr).

Ditto previous posters. It's fine. If you want a record of who your driver is just take a screenshot when you get the alert message they're on their way and you have (first) name, car make and plate number.
But you'll be fine, and will probably save money unless surge pricing is on.
I saw this post on recently updated threads so i just thought for solidarity i would tell you that i have never used uber before and i am equally parts scared and intimidated. Also i thought I was the only person left who hadnt used uber besides my parents, so im happy to see there are a few others haha. I was in houston a few months ago for a wedding and i got the app and i was hesitating and playing around with it a bit and I accidentally did something that made me think that i had i orderd the uber to come to my location so i panicked and turned off my phone and called my sister from a diff phone and asked her if they could they still find me .... So good luck haha!
You can text us a picture of the uber driver's account thinger before you get in, so if you die we know where to send the cops. At least if you die, you will be avenged!
I actually just did this when I was in Chicago. LOL! It was a joke, but I was texting with some H&F girls and I commented that the guy (I was by myself) said we were going to go around the city to avoid traffic. Cool, but I had no idea where we were. We could have been avoiding traffic, I could have been being chauffeured to my death. So we were joking about that and I sent them the account pic with his plate#.
Tamb, you'll be fine. We use them all of the time.
ETA: Oh! I took and Über and our VP took a cab. My trip was $20 cheaper. Unless Über is surging, it should be cheaper.

@tambcat I don't think I ever took a cab in Tally, but if it is anything like the cabs in Gainesville I promise Uber will be a million times less sketchy.
