It's my last day in the office this week! I have a huge all-day training I'm running today, so it will be a very long day. But then I get 4 days to rest!
I need to vent! I emailed the participants of today's all day training at least 3 times about the day (over the course of about 5 weeks) and each time asked about dietary restrictions, since we provide 3 very nice meals during the training. Usually everyone who has an allergy or restriction gets back quickly, since they know I will need to plan for their accommodations. I just got an email that was sent last night around 10pm from someone telling me she is gluten-free, dairy-free, and no refined sugar! That is not a small modification. That is a big list of major restrictions. And breakfast starts at 8:30 this morning. Ugh!

I took my dog for her walk this morning and while I don't normally inspect her poop this time the dollar bill was too obvious to miss, but I couldn't bring myself to inspect too closely. I'm going to assume she got a $1 bill and not a $50.
We just found out some of our best friends are moving away. I cried. They were some of our first and closest friends. My kids love their kids and we only live a block apart.
I have a weird bite on the back of my neck and and it feels like it's getting worse. I should go to a dr

I woke up to my period and the worst cramps ever. Also my eyes are practically swollen shut from crying so much yesterday. It's gonna be a long day. I may need to stuff my feeling into a Chipotle burrito bowl.
I got my new UP Move yesterday, and I already like it a lot more than the wristband ones I had before. And I'd forgotten how much I liked having the step count, lol.
I have just a little bit of sunburn from the baseball game yesterday (apparently I missed my right collar bone with the sunscreen, and traffic was miserable coming home. Still worth it because a) not at work, b) out with DH, and c) my team won.
Today is my Friday! My kids are inexplicably off of school tomorrow so I had to take off work. I'm surprising them and taking them to Angry Birds, then we have a birthday party in the afternoon (I guess since they are off?). I'm really excited to spend some one on two time with them.
State testing continues today, and since I'm not scheduled to proctor I'm just hanging out in the department office to grade and whatnot. It would be heavenly except that a colleague who is in deep BEC territory with me is also here and keeps singing the Mr Rogers theme song. KILL.
Today is my Friday. Kids are in school tomorrow so Im looking forward to getting some things done. We're all off Monday so that will be nice. Having a 4 day work week this week and next is so nice.
I am having the hardest time hiring for a position I have open. It requires an editing test. Everyone on my team, including me, took it to be hired. I have given to five writers who are qualified on paper. Every single person has tanked in a big way.
I'm not asking for the moon here - just to spot common homophones and basic grammar errors. The fact that college graduates who are employed as writers don't know the difference between its and it's, there and their, seem and seam, phase and faze is just depressing.

This week has been hard. I haven't been sleeping well and I had three new clients last night and have two new ones tonight. My brain is exhausted. I need to sleep this weekend and glad that it's a 3 day one in England. So, very, very glad. (And that we have no plans)

I wanna take the test!
Are you willing to relocate to STL? Here you go!
Find the errors in the following story:
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The steps of the nations capital were the sight of an unusual
ceremony today as Secretary of State Horatio Lanier addressed the imminent new members
of the diplomatic core.
"Its a pleasure to welcome you," said Lanier, a former U.S. Senator from Jacksonville, North
Carolina.
Despite the vary cold whether, which didn't seam to phase them, the dignitaries gave free
reign to their applause.
Between thirty to forty diplomats listened with rapped attention, standing stationery like
gripped in a vice, under the watchful eyes of the Secret Service their to guard them. Hardly
never a loss for words, but looking a bit pail, Laneir said he hoped his listeners had become
use to the bitter cold, the worst the city had scene in years.
The Secretary then told the tail of a racetrack better who lost all his money and, out of shear
hunger, had commited a minor theft, steeling a apple from a street vender. On advise of
council the man waved a jury trial and through himself on the mercy of the court. The juge
denied bale, meeted out thirty days in jail, and leveed a fine of one hundred dollars.
"The man took his punishment pretty good," said Lanier, "but it was a hard way to learn a
lessen we all can prophet from: As we sew, so shall we reap, whether we are individuals or
nation's. Let us not seak vengeance, Instead, let us saver the blessings of piece!"
My dad is currently in surgery for a hernia repair. I ordinarily wouldn't be too concerned but up until this past Tuesday, he hadn't been to a doctor in over 30 years and he had been ignoring the growing hernia for at least 3 years (it's grown quite visibly large).
I just hope he doesn't have any complications - things like embolisms, heart attack while under anesthesia, post-op infections/sepsis, etc. scare the shit out of me.

My first class is on a field trip and I don't really have much to do. I already helped with some set up for Field Day tomorrow, but my classroom is air conditioned and very little of the rest of the school is as well. It is nice to hang out in here, but I should probably see if anyone needs anything.
Good job, TR ! The best score is 0. On a quick look, you got -10, and a few of those are just errors of AP style, which we use and the candidates are supposed to know. I haven't had an applicant get under -24 this round.
Jack finished school yesterday. His report card was great. Then we get this long letter from the third grade teachers talking about all the stuff we should work on over the summer, and be prepared for homework notebooks that we will have to sign off on yaddy yaddy.
H has been working like crazy the past few weeks, out of the house by 7AM, home for 9PM and working through the weekend so I am thrilled that he is going to be home before 7 so we can actually have dinner together! 2 more days till the weekend.
I'm annoyed with G's daycare. They are moving the kids up to the next classrooms to bring in the summer kids and make room. This is all well and good but they haven't said anything to the parents. I only heard from G's teacher because we are friends outside of the school. I would like to meet his teacher or at least have the information so we can talk to him about it because he doesn't handle big changes very well. I feel like a little heads up from the school isn't too much to ask. I guess I'm going to be 'that mom'.
ProfessorArtNerd, I'm so sorry. Can you get her some awesome scarves or something?
I am not looking forward to camping this weekend. The weather is supposed to be crappy and we have so much to do at the house. Blah.
I noticed a big bald spot on Bella when I gave her her bath last night. Not sure how I hadn't noticed it except she's black and white and it was on a part where her skin is black. So now I'm worried and have a call in to the vet. My parents are supposed to pick her up at noon to take her to the cabin with them while we camp (she's not a camper).
