Book club last night was so much fun. We lost track of time and didn't leave my friend's rooftop deck until after 10. Oops.
I'm so ready to be done picking out stuff for our kitchen remodel. Why are there 65293847 different shades of white tile? "Magnolia." "Goose Down." "Mountain Mist." I don't care. Just give me white.
I'm surprising G with tickets to the O's game for his birthday next Friday and then we have a big outdoor party on Saturday...and it's looking like it will rain the whole weekend. Blah.
ETA: Did anyone else watch Better Call Saul? His brother Chuck is so much like my dad. I feel like it's a character that I haven't seen depicted in tv/movies before.

We are hosting a BBQ on Saturday, and have tried to do a menu that everyone can eat something off of (Burgers, veggie burgers, brats, hot dogs, vegan coleslaw, chips/salsa/guac, roasted veggies, gluten free desserts, etc.). I have a friend attending who wants to the ingredients of everything, including all spices being used. I get it, I understand allergies, however, this is for her kid who is allergic to EVERYTHING. Why not just bring something for her to eat, that you know she can safely eat? Am I being irrational to be frustrated by this?

Not irrational. When you have a host of allergies, it's best to bring your own food. Safer for you and MUCH better for the host/ess!
If you/your kid is allergic to something like eggs, fine, ask if it has eggs. But if you/your kid has a ton of allergies, in a setting like that, just bring your own food.

I was selected (read: voluntold) for a hiring committee on campus. This is the longest process ever! And nobody's willing to be critical and cut people out!
I'm really getting fed up with my siblings disapproval for my life choices. If you disagree, fine. But don't be a bitch/ass about it.
On a brighter note, this is going to be my first free weekend in a month!

We actually have "friends" who got annoyed at us for bringing GF and DF food for DS when we went to their house.. They said that their food wasn't "good enough." Umm no, he has dietary restricts, FFS.

Man, eff those people. I'm sorry they gave you a hard time about it.

Thanks. It came up in a fight about another issue. They really are not our friends anymore, but it was still an odd thing to be mad over.

That's ridiculous! It would be different if he didn't have dietary restrictions but he does so they need to stop making everything about them.
