My left contact is being a dick today. I don't have any extras at work nor my glasses, so today will be awesome when it comes to seeing. I have plans after work to go see one of my favorite artists do a free show, but now I'm worried I'll be uncomfortable the entire time and I don't have time to go home first.
Tomorrow I am heading home for a family wedding and after the wedding I am joining up with my family to go camping. I was really looking forward to sitting around the fire sipping on some hard cider, but I was put on an antibiotic this week and I can't drink on it. I'll still have fun, but I've been craving cider!
I received a very pleasant first message from a guy on Tinder. I think in all the years I've done online dating, this guy really nailed it and it's not even a mind-blowing message. That may show my jaded expectation of online dating, lol.
I'm currently taking an online job assessment for a position I applied to. It was going fine and dandy, but the section I am in now is super slow or glitching or something. It is drving me crazy, especially since it is timed. I am not taking 4 minutes to answer a question! It is just not allowing me to move forward!

Coffee meets bagel can suck it. I haven't matched with a guy in over a week and now it's not even showing me anyone in the "discover" section. FFS.
The only positive is that xh is not moving to my specific area anymore, so I can safely get back on some other sites without having to deal with his pouty mug showing up in my matches.
I feel like I am seeing different people than on the other sites, but I have only talked to one person so far, so it may be a lookie-loo type thing. It is a little weird how the breakdown the distance from you. I've had people show up at "less than 850ft" from me...while I am in my apartment. So, hello neighbors I guess.

For the first time in God knows how long, I'm caught up at work and have a super light day. On top of that, we do "half day Friday's during summer" and that starts today so YAY ME!
I'm also shooting a wedding with one of my local idol photographers this weekend, so I'm STOKED!

I'm so happy it is Friday and a 3 day weekend! Tonight I'm going to stay in and tomorrow I am going to see Blues traveler and relive the 90s a bit! Lol!!

Things ended w the bf weds night. He made a comment about education not being important but having a sense of adventure was more important. Bye !
I guess guys can date a less intelligent woman and it doesn't bother them but for us women, we'd like to date someone w the same level of education at least. I tried it the other way around, it was a disaster.

I have an advanced degree, MH doesn't have a college degree at all. I don't believe a college degree makes you educated or intelligent. Some of the dumbest, least educated people I know have a degree. MH also financially supported both of us for three years while I went back to school, so it is not like his lack of a degree hindered his earning capacity too much. *shrugs* To each their own.
Although, MH is now going back to school, but will probably go to a tech school rather than a traditional college.

In my experience, and based on research things I've read, men traditionally prefer women who are less educated than them, whereas women prefer men that are higher earners, and educated, etc.
I mean - what is with the 40 year old guys dating 22 year olds? It's not because those 22 year olds are mature, smart, driven, and have life experience...
Men like dumb, pretty women. And even when they say they don't, many are intimidated by intelligent, driven women.
One of many reasons I am single.
I agree with this so much. My relationship with XH was always somewhat troubled, but when my career really took off, it got worse. He admitted that my success made him feel bad about himself, and he too is and was successful! But he admittedly always envisioned himself as the "star" in the relationship, and when that sort of went away, it really bothered him.

Xbf and I both had BA/BS ... well here's to hoping that next week's lunch date (an atty) isn't put off by my BA

The guy who sent the pleasant first message is proving to be a terrible conversationalist. I'm all, "Cool, where do you do XYZ? How long have you ABC?" He's just like, "At river. 7 years." I'm over this already.
