Friday we were off. Got the a/c fixed (for the 3rd and hopefully last time this summer.) Met our friend and her son for lunch and then we all went to the pool at the gym for several hours - it was so nice out! Had dinner in the gym cafe and came home to put two exhausted kids to bed.
Saturday we had a lazy morning. The kids re-discovered their playroom while we read in bed and then I watched a movie with the kids while L napped. Once we finally got moving, we went to lunch, did a few errands, and took the kids to the playground (holy hell, it was hot.) The kids were supposed to go to Parents Night Out, but we were all lethargic so we cancelled it and went home to watch a movie.
Sunday we made up for Saturday's lazy morning. L steam cleaned the carpets while I did odds and ends around the house. Went to Ikea and got new bookshelves, to lunch, to get the kids haircut (L really didn't want Gray to get his hair cut and ended up leaving the salon crying - which pissed me off.) We came home and tagged for consignment, cleaned out the kids closets, and cleaned out a lot of crap from the house that we will donate. Finally ordered pizza and crashed.
Monday we went out for breakfast, went to Wegmans (which wasn't a novel idea - it was packed), came home and let the kids play, tried to go to Costco but it was closed, took the kids to the playground to play with the older kids, and then came home to get ready for the first day of school.
Saturday we went to hang out in Brooklyn with friends. We took the I.KEA ferry and then walked a bazillion miles and ate key lime pie dipped in chocolate on a stick, baked goods, and Hispanic food truck food. Wish we could move there.
Sunday we went to the shore. The weather was sort of crappy beach weather but we still had fun and it was an essential end of summer activity.
Monday we hung out at home, played a video game we love, watched a movie, did household stuff. We also went to target and trader Joe's which both looked like a tornado hit. TJ's had almost zero produce. Then we went to bed too late and woke up exhausted this morning... oops. One of our cats also ate dw's headphones and we're worried about that.
Saturday - Jelly Bean and I hit the grocery store while K worked out. After JB's nap, I took her and one of our dogs a playground. It was nice to let the dog run for a bit (private playground, no one else there) and for JB to play.
Sunday - all three of us went to a local fair. I love fairs. JB had a good time walking around and looking at the 4H animals. On our way home we stopped at few farm stands for some fresh fruit (and cider donuts).
Monday - JB and I stayed in our pjs all day as it was a day of cleaning and being lazy. K spent the day cleaning and organizing the garage.
We had an awesome weekend - Sprout was sweet and fun and well behaved and it was SO NICE.
Friday I picked up RB from preschool (awesome as anticipated) then we played at home for a bit before getting Sprout. When DW and Daisy came home we all went out to Dairy Queen for dinner and ice cream. We sat outside and had a nice time.
Saturday we went to the beach with friends. It was a beautiful day, the kids all played nicely together, and I got to snuggle a sweet little 3 week old. Lovely.
Sunday we slept in (couldnt believe it when I woke up and saw the clock read 9am!!) and had a lazy morning. Eventually we got ourselves over to the mall and the kids made new stuffed animals with gift cards they had to build a bear (thanks T*T!). In the afternoon we went to my parents' house to swim, but the kids werent into it so we went fishing instead. Sprout and RB caught a bunch of fish!! Had a picnic dinner then DW went off to work and the kids and I roasted some marshmallows on a campfire before I brought them home and put them to bed.
Monday I got up early to do my last C25K run and DW surprised me by bringing the kids out to cheer me on at the "finish line" (i.e. our driveway ). It was so sweet and thoughtful it made me cry! We ate breakfast and lazed around the house for a bit before DW took Sprout and Rosebud to chuckie cheese and I took Daisy to the grocery - poor baby got the short end of that stick! Then the kids had a little rest before we went to a local park to meet up with our good friends for a picnic. It was a beautiful day and it was great to catch up with them. Home for dinner, bath, books and bed and the kids did NOT want to get up this morning for school!

You're welcome. And thank you for the photo! I showed JB and she said, "I see my friends later." Maybe we should look at fall calendars and plan a play-date.
After picking A up from school I stopped by the store to get supplies for dinner, biscuit pizzas, chocolate milk, and Oreos. The girls made their own pizzas and sat down to watch a movie while they baked. Once dinner and the movie were done I took A to her Dads house. I made a batch of biscuits for J to eat when she got home and then we climbed in bed and watched a movie on the laptop.
We got up early on Saturday and went to the swapmeet, we walked three aisles (the whole thing is 15 long aisles) before calling it quits, it was 90° at 8:30am. We went out for breakfast at our favorite Mexican restaurant and to a few stores looking for a table to hold J's DJ equipment. J dropped us off at home so the kids could nap and ran to Home Depot for the table. We visited J's parents in the afternoon and tried to get them to babysit so we could go on a dinner date but they weren't up for it so we grabbed Del Taco and went home to eat and watch a movie.
The kids and I hung out at home on Sunday. A came home at 8 and I put everyone to bed. J got home around 9 and called me from the driveway to ask why the garage door was open, no one had been in the garage so she called 911. Two officers came to check the garage, they searched the whole property with guns drawn and didn't find anybody. Our quads, dirt bike, J's old DJ equip, etc was still in the garage so we don't know why the garage was broken into.
Owl had MH therapy yesterday morning, we sang and danced the entire time. J's parents invited us over for brunch, pozole for the non dieting meat eaters and sauteed spinach, tomatoes, and onions with monterey jack for the vegetarian and dieters. We left the big girls to play with their cousin and headed home around 1pm so J could go to work. The girls got dropped off a few hours later and we went to the park. Owl climbed the play structure, went down the big slides, got on the merry go round and swings and just enjoyed herself, it was a dream come true for me. We headed home so I could make dinner, chicken nuggets, ranch fries, and veggies. As soon as everyone was done eating I put them to bed. I watched some TV before getting in bed.

It was really nice. My parents had us over for dinner on Friday night - lasagna, garlic bread, salad, and apple crisp. Heaven. On Saturday we mostly hung around the house, and Jen went to the mall to buy new jeans. My sister got to town Saturday evening and she came over (bringing leftover apple crisp) and we fed the babies and got them to sleep and then we played Bananagrams while Jen went to bed early.
On Sunday Kari and E (of Seattle) stopped by on their way home from camping. Lost my GTG virginity, ha :-) We got coffee and went to a park Jen and I had never been to. The weather was gorgeous and I have to say that E cracked me up - she is the funniest kid, sweet, articulate, obviously so smart - and did I mention funny? She suggested that for Halloween we turn the stroller into a pirate ship and dress the babies as a pirate and a parrot. I mean, that's genius, right? It made me realize how much we have to look forward to with our kids. I really hope that we can get together in the future because Jen and I really enjoyed meeting both of them.
We ate crock-pot bean soup when we got home and I went to my parents' after the babies went to bed to play Wii with them and my sister. We spent most of the day at their house on Monday, having a big brunch, playing Wii and just hanging out. We tried out getting the babies to nap away from home in preparation for our trip to Atlanta. It didn't go great, but they did both sleep a little bit, so it's not totally hopeless.

Friday E and I packed up the car to head to Bend, OR for two nights of camping and a Brandi Carlile show. We got to the campground around dusk and thankfully I succeeded at setting up all the necessities by myself. We had dinner in the almost dark, roasted marshmallows and had fun hanging out around the campfire.
Saturday we hung out at the campground and the beautiful park along the river adjacent to the campground. E played with some kids around her age in the river for a while and enjoyed the warm sunny weather. Later in the afternoon we headed to the outdoor amphitheater to see Brandi Carlile. It was E's first real concert and she wanted to sit near the front of the grass and then when Brandi took the stage she wanted to be standing in the crowd near the front. So I held her on my hip for most of the show...yes that big tall first grader! We had a blast until she was tired and we left just before the end of the show to head back to the campground.
Sunday E slept in until 8! We had breakfast and packed up the car, took a solar shower to get all the dirt off and hit the road for Vancouver. We met up with the lovely ElsaVonM family and had a fantastic time hanging out a park near their place. Their babes are seriously so.dang.cute. OMG. And of course E was her typical silly, entertaining, no filter 6 year old self. We had a great time and I look forward to future get togethers! After our meetup, we hit the road for home and rolled in around E's bedtime.
Monday we mostly just hung out at home doing laundry and resting up. A spent the day chilling with us and last night we celebrated her birthday with a spaghetti dinner and angel food cupcakes.
Today I sent my big little girl off to first grade. :-( Oh yeah, she went with no problems...a hug and a kiss and a quick picture with her teacher and off she went!!!
I'm on a little high from the weekend. The "this is why we do it" kind. We took the kids to a staff reunion from the camp L and I met at (we worked there for several summers together). They embraced it all. Loved the friends, laughed at pictures of their moms as teenagers, learned new songs, Zucchini fell asleep by the campfire being serenaded (my idea of heaven), and took them to the hike around the camp that is now closed down. Watching my old campers take care of my kids, and then watching my kids play with the kids of my friends--it's all too much. I cry just typing it.
Then found out (SHHHHH!!) my brother and his wife are pregnant--due April 1!
Walked the girls to their first day of school today. They were in great moods tonight!!!
