Is there any particular music you associate with certain books? I have several, mostly because a song was popular when I read something powerful. Like, Taio Cruz's Dynomite is linked forever with The Hunger Games, because I read it on the way home from Italy, and when I saw my son (who stayed with family), he was obsessed with the song thanks to his cousins and we listened to it over and over while I thought about the book.
Or, the Chili Peppers' Soul to Squeeze has a lyric:
oh so polite, indeed. Well I got everything I need. Oh make my days a breeze and take away my self destruction...
Which for some reason always reminded me of Claudia from Interview with the Vampire, when Louis describes how she knew the proper silverware to use, even though she never had need to use them ("bless her little black heart")
Like I said, random. But brought to you this evening by wine (lol) and because I have a new one. This is Rhysland's song, because I rediscovered it while reading, and because of the lyrics "hated identity", "no no it isn't me" and "I'm more at home in my galaxie."
The first is Nirvana's Come As You Are, which I associate with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and the scene in the grave yard where Voldemort is stealing Harry's blood. The very first time I read the passage it made me think of the lyrics to the song, and I don't really know why, because they aren't the same, but I can't read the book without thinking of the song, or hear the song without thinking of that section of the book.
From the book: "Bone of the father, unknowingly given. You will renew your son!" "Flesh — of the servant — w-willingly given — you will revive — your master." "B-blood of the enemy... forcibly taken... you will... resurrect your foe."
From the song:
Come as you are, as you were As I want you to be As a friend, as a friend As an known enemy
The second is Seal's Kiss From a Rose, and Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. If you haven't read this series it would probably take a long time to explain it to you, but towers, roses, symbolism. LOL! I didn't really make this connection until I finished the series last year though.
Nonny that is my favorite Nirvane song! I can see the connection. I've read Dark Tower maybe a dozen times, and the only music I've ever associated are some Bon Jovi songs. Remember they did some stuff for Young Guns 2, and then a few other cowboy themed songs around the same time. But speaking of Stephen King, the use of Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear the Reaper during the opening of The Stand (made for tv) was brilliant!
There is a song that reminds me of Mac from the Fever series but for the life of me I can't think of it right now. Like, I have been trying for hours, still can't think of it. This is going to bother me all day haha
FINALLY REMEMBERED IT! It's "Heart Attack" by Demi Lovato. Mainly the idea that Mac likes to be a "rainbow girl" by dressing up and doing her nails etc. But also she doesn't want to fall in love.
Lyrics:
Puttin' my defences up 'Cause I don't wanna fall in love If I ever did that, I think I'd have a heart attack
...
But you make me wanna act like a girl Paint my nails and wear high heels, yes you Make me so nervous, that I just can't hold your hand
You make me glow, But I cover up, won't let it show, So I'm puttin' my defenses up 'Cause I don't wanna fall in love If I ever did that, I think I'd have a heart attack"

It DID bother you all day, didn't it? Glad I asked such a thought provoking question.
I have another. Come Undone by Duran Duran makes me think of the Flowers in the Attic series.
Mine, immaculate dream made breath and skin I've been waiting for you Signed, with a home tattoo, Happy birthday to you was created for you
(can not forgive from falling apart at the seams Can not believe you're taking my heart to pieces)
Oh, it'll take a little time, Might take a little crime To come undone now
[Prechorus:] We'll try to stay blind To the hope and fear outside Hey child, stay wilder than the wind And blow me into cry
[Chorus:] Who do you need, who do you love When you come undone? Who do you need, who do you love When you come undone?
Words, playing me deja vu Like a radio tune I swear I've heard before Chill, is it something real Or the magic I'm feeding off your fingers?
(can not forgive from falling apart at the seams Can not believe you're taking my heart to pieces)
Lost, in a snow filled sky, we'll make it alright To come undone now
[Prechorus] [Chorus]
(can not forgive from falling apart) Who do you need, who do you love When you come undone? (can not forgive from falling apart) Who do you need, who do you love? (can not forgive from falling apart) Who do you love When you come undone? (can not forgive from falling apart)

This might be lame, but "A Walk to Remember" by Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorites. I always associate that book with Jimmy Eat World's "Bleed Amercian" later changed to self-titled album. I think I do this because I got the book and cd for Christmas that year and happened to read and play the music at night, however I do think a lot of the songs could related to the story.
I love the Get Up Kids song "I'll Catch You", if they ever made a movie of Catcher in the Rye I'd love to see that song as the background during the scene in the field.
