stuff does open up pretty regularly i think... people make reservations 6 months ahead, and then make a lot of changes in those 6 months before the trip. so definitely keep stalking the site :-) i got an 8 AM be our guest breakfast reservation by just checking a lot.
the other thing you can do is try to make 2 reservations for 4 people- break up the party and that might open up more availability. even if they're within like 15 minutes from each other, it might work...

Just keep checking. Things open up all the time. When I book my meals, I book anything I think we might want and then drop things as our schedules firm up.

Yes, things will open up. People cancel trips, drop things once they book fastpasses, etc. I also think Disney holds back reservations sometimes. I did not get the Via Napoli time I really wanted but eventually a huge block of reservations opened up.

There is a monthly drop thread over on Dis boards. You can not request things but people will post what ADRs they plan to drop. Sometimes you can try and arrange a drop so you can pick it up right after they drop it.

I have also heard good things about the touring plans ressie finder. Not sure if you need to be a paying member to use it. I think TP is worth it for the app to use in park. I also find it useful to help give a basic structure to the day.

I agree with the recommendation to try and split the group up if need be.

We had a really hard time with reservations last December. Stuff did eventually open up but not until a day or two prior to leaving for our trip. They weren't great times, either. The problem is you have so many holiday parties eating up reservation times so getting prime times is hard. Definitely keep checking though-you may get lucky!

We will be there at the same time! We just booked dining yesterday and also had to do later times for the breakfast buffets (party of 3, including a toddler). I think we are going to leave them there because then we can skip lunch and just give J something on the go. That said, I think there is definitely hope for getting earlier times if you want them.
