2 kids - where did you install infant car seat?

What's easiest logistically? We need to install our infant base soon and I'm not sure where to put it.

We never installed the base. Just used the seatbelt install based on whatever side of the car was facing the sidewalk.

DS1 was 3 by the time DS2 was born, so we flipped him FF and put him behind the driver (he was previously in the middle). The infant car seat went behind the passenger, which was better for leg room. DH and I are both tall, and in my small car it would have been impossible to put the infant seat behind me.

I put the infant seat behind the drivers seat when I was taking it out all the time. Now I leave it in the car, so it is in the middle. That was dictated by the fact my kid was a car seat screamer and someone needed to sit next to him.

We did infant seat in the middle, DD's seat (first RF, now FF) behind passenger. Someone needed to be able to sit in the backseat.

Behind the drivers seat. I have dd1 get in first and go across to her seat and she climbs in while I put dd2 and the carrier in. Then I go around to the passenger side to finish strapping dd1 in. She insists on climbing in herself and buckling the chest clip herself so she can get that done while I'm putting baby in and it saves time. It's been working well so far.

Drivers side because I'm so short. When DH drives my car he can't push the seat all the way back otherwise it bumps into the infant carrier.

Behind the driver. Mostly so I can hand stuff to ds1 easier from the drivers seat. Also easier to load him on he sidewalk side if I am parked on the street.

We put it behind the driver's seat. That is the seat that is closer to the door to the house in the garage so we don't have to carry the bucket seat around the van every time we take him in/out.

H and I both drive small-ish cars, so we put the infant seat behind the passenger seat so there's enough room to rear face. DD1 is forward facing.

We may swap the seats this fall and put DD1 on the passenger side because that seems like the better way for school dropoff. (Her school is in an urban area and drop off is on a city street.)

Dd1 (3.5), is behind passenger bc Teachers at school get her in/out during drop off and pickup from that side.

Infant seat behind driver. DH really wanted it in the middle, but I need dd1 further than arms reach from the infant. I just don't trust her that close if I'm not constantly supervising.

You should put it wherever you can get the best install in your car. In my old Prius, I put the infant seat behind the passenger, because there's a bump in the center so a car seat can't go there. I put forward facing DS behind the driver so that the driver had more legroom. Now in my minivan I have captains chairs in the second row, and plenty of space. So I have DD's RFing convertible behind the driver and DS's FF 5pt harness behind the passenger, because he needs to be on the passenger side for preschool dropoff.

Behind the driver. Dd1 is still rear facing behind the passenger. We have tiny cars- a Nissan Versa hatchback and Hyundai Elantra.

I had the bucket seat behind the driver, since sometimes I'd go places with just the baby, but rarely with just the toddler.

I put the younger kid behind the driver because I SAH and I'm home during the day with the younger child while the older kid is at school and it would annoy me to walk around to the other side of the car every time the two of us drove somewhere. I'm lazy like that.

Exactly this, except DS1 is 4.

In my car, it fits better behind the passenger seat. We moved DS (FF) behind the driver seat. In DH's truck, the infant seat is behind the drivers seat. He hasn't actually put the car seat in there yet but claims it will fit fine. We will see!

We just installed last weekend and put the infant bucket behind the passenger. That's where DS1 was prior, but we moved him to the driver's side, FF. The bucket fits better behind the passenger because I'm much shorter than DH - he's 6'4".

We have a van. DS is RF behind the passenger so we put the infant seat in the middle for now. That way someone can sit in the back seat with the kids or I can sit in the back and nurse her. Plus I can see her in the mirror that way. If it doesn't work out we will move her to the drivers side. When she is out of the bucket and DS flips forward we will probably put him on Th e drivers side and her in his seat on the passenger side.

My H is 6'3", so it went behind the passenger and older brother was flipped around. We're suburb dwellers, so sidewalk vs street side wasn't a huge deal, but we would let older brother out of his straps and have him go to the other door to get out.

Both of my kids were on the passenger side in their infant seats. DH couldn't drive the car otherwise; he's 6'1" and a RF carseat behind him didn't leave enough room to move the seat back.

I think we're going to put the bucket behind the passenger - it's easier for the driver to reach back in case of paci misplacement.

Our Infant seat was a Nuna Pipa with rigid latch so we had to put it on the side. Baby was on the passenger side, DS in his booster on the driver side.

When we moved to the convertible we put DD in the middle so we can more easily have a 3rd passenger in the back seat.

I am short, so it doesn't matter in my car, in my H's truck, c will be ff behind the driver and baby will be rf behind passenger

I put the baby on the driver side and the toddler on the passenger side. The passenger side is usually the sidewalk side when parked so I thought that was safer for the toddler to get into the car on that side.

I'm trying to figure out how this is true and wondering if I'm a moron for saying what I said above, but no, I am about 90% certain that it really depends on where we park. And, in fact, when I am with both kids by myself, I aim to park where I can get the passenger side on the sidewalk, since DS's RFing seat is installed on that side now and I need the sidewalk while I get him in and out. Getting DD in and out of the car is a lot faster, so I don't care if her seat is on the traffic side. But there ARE times that the only spot I find to park ends up with her on the sidewalk side. 

I am overthinking this.
