We are driving 17hrs to Disney World next week. We check in on Wednesday. Would you leave Monday and stay 1 night in Baton Rouge then on Tuesday drive to either Pensacola or Tallahassee for night 2. Arrive at Disney on Wednesday.

Leave Tueday and try to make it to Pensacola or Tallahassee on Tuesay. Arrive at Disney Wednesday
It's 6hrs to Baton Rouge and and like 11 or 12 hrs (min with no traffic) to Pensacola. We are splitting the cost of gas and hotels with my mom. And she doesn't care when we leave. It will be Eric driving with myself, my mom, and J (almost 3.5 yrs old.)
We drove straight through on an 18 hour drive. It seems to be a badge of honor for people in Michigan to say that they've done this. Never again! We were so exhausted after that drive, I don't think we really enjoyed ourselves until our 3rd (last) day in the parks. I think leaving on Tuesday and making 1 stop would be fine.
It's 18 hours for us. We go to Pensacola on day 1 and it works well.
Any tips?
Sure, what specifically? I would def go all the way to Pensacola or a bit past (what we usually do) the first day. Lots of movies and lots and lots of snacks. Mine go through so many more snacks than usual just bc they are bored.

Our drive is about 17ish hours with stops. We do Cleveland to Jacksonville (leave at 4am and get to Jacksonville by around 6pm)and spend the night there and then Jacksonville to Disney (2.5ish hours) the next morning.

I'd go straight through to Pensacola. We live outside of NOLA and I think that between NOLA and Pensacola seems like it goes fast since you are changing states quickly through MS and AL. Or if you want something in between you can stop in Biloxi.
