We are going to Disneyland with my two kids (almost 9 and 5.5) in July. My DD (almost 9) LOVES Harry Potter and we are considering a trip to Universal Studios to see Harry Potter World. If you've been, can a 9 year old ride most of the rides? If she's a huge Harry Potter fan, will she just love it? LOL, that's hard to answer!
If we go with her we may take my 5.5 year old son or split up and do something else with him. He does not like scary rides so I feel like he won't want to go on many rides, and he's not familiar with Harry Potter. Do you think he'd enjoy himself anyway?
I just went last month. No kids so I didn't pay much attention to the height requirements. I wanna say it was 40 inches for Forbidden Journey and Gringotts. I was way too chicken for the Dragon Challenge one so I don't know on that one. I don't think Flight of the Hippogriff had a height requirement and of course anybody can ride the Hogwarts express. The bigger rides have a non rider line too that you can walk through to see the inside of the castle, etc and then just bypass the actual ride. I think she'd love it even if she's not able to ride some of the rides. Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are just so cool and very detailed! I thought it was so cool seeing all the little details from the book. I saw lots of kids doing the interactive wand thing which looked pretty cool. I think your younger one would probably enjoy it too but maybe not as much as somebody familiar with the books/movies. But there are other things in Universal he may like too. Maybe Seussland or the Jurassic Park area?
Ha...I wrote all that and then realized you are going to DisneyLAND. I was at Universal Orlando. Last time I was at Universal Hollywood, Harry Potter world wasn't open yet.
But if the CA version is anything like the FL version, I still think everybody would have fun!
