This morning on the radio I heard Never Say Goodbye and I hadn't heard that song in years, it prompted me to think of all the awesome hair band love ballads from when I was kid.
This is my list in no particular order and songs that I haven't heard in quite sometime. I'm sure there are more, but I'd have to do a complete search. What are yours.....
Bon Jovi - Never Say Goodbye Def Leppard - Love Bites White Lion - When The Children Cry Cinderella - Don't Know What You Got Night Ranger - Sister Christian Firehouse - When I Look into Your Eyes Tesla - Love Song Damn Yankees - High Enough Ozzy and Lita - Close My Eyes Forever Winger - Miles Away Alias - More Than Words Can Say
All of those take me back to high school dances! <3
Skid Row "I Remember You" Wham "Careless Whisper" Cyndi Lauper "Time After Time"
OMG, all the 8th grade end of year parties in the homeroom. Girls on side, boys on other, and no one wanting to slow dance because well embarrassment, lol.
Melt with You - Modern English Take My Breath Away - Berlin Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler Every Breath You Take - Police Alone - Heart I Want to Know What Love Is - Foreigner
And my personal favourite from my senior year: I Just Died in Your Arms Tonight - Cutting Crew (not for dancing but spoke to me as I truly wanted to fall in love so badly)
Wow, I loved those songs, and would add Faithfully from Journey
Funny note: my brother and SIL are huge 80s hair band fans. In February they went on a "Monsters of Rock" cruise. Skid Row, Tesla, Queensryke and Stevie Vai were some of the groups on the cruise. They had a blast.
There is an 80s cruise through Carnival (I think) that has a trip planned in February. I would LOVE to go on that.

OMG, that would be fucking awesome! We'd all be old, and in bed by 8pm, but it would rock. LMAO
This post is so timely. H and I happened to listen to the song "Save Your Love" by Great White the other night and we were laughing about all the forgotten Hair Ballads. I listen more to songs from the 70's (thanks Sirius), but I confess I have Duran, Duran in my CD player in my car right no. "Hold Back the Rain" seems an appropriate jam at the moment.

I'm older than you ladies- but Truly by Lionel Richie was "our" song for my first love and I. REO Speedwagon and Journey -knew all the words to their albums that came out in 1982- I was 16 when they were released

It's a Celebrity cruise. DH and I are considering going.
Foreigner - Waiting for a girl like you is playing.
I've also had :
F.R. David - Words Chicago - If you leave me now
I saw a really good Irish movie last week : Sing Street
It's about a couple of boys in the '80s setting up a band to impress a girl. The music is incredible! Some songs have been written for the movie, but all the other usual suspects are there: Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, The Cure, ...
