I'm starting to look at hotel options for our 10 year anniversary trip to New Zealand and Fiji next March, and I was wondering if anyone had any experiences to share about resorts in Fiji. From what I've been able to gather I think we're going to go with Matamanoa. I like that it's adults only, the Yasawas are probably too long on a boat for my motion sick-prone husband (and flights are too crazy expensive), and it fits into what we wanted to spend per night. But there are so many options I figured I'd ask in case I'm missing something.
And if anyone can point me in the direction of a central Auckland hotel that's around $200NZ/night I'd really appreciate it -- I'm getting tired of looking at hotels after researching them for Fiji and Queenstown. We'll be there the first 2 nights of the trip and then another one before our early morning flight to Fiji.

I don't recall the cost but we stayed at the Langham hotel in Auckland, which was very nice. It was maybe a 20 minute walk to the harbor, or they had a free shuttle. auckland.langhamhotels.co.nz/
The Waldorf Stadium is in a good spot in Auckland. The cab fare from the airport will be about $NZ100, but there is a bus and a short walk to the hotel if you want. www.stadium-apartments-hotel.co.nz/

We honeymooned in Fiji and stayed at Qamea Resort & Spa. We loved having our own beachfront bure, with a private courtyard that had an outdoor rock shower and spa tub.

We got married and honeymooned in Fiji. We wound up staying at Royal Davui and Likuliku, which I think might be more than Matamanoa. Royal Davui was offering a pretty great Stay/Pay special at the time, so that's something to look into. Also, they're offering 50% off during the entire month of February because they're doing some construction on the staff quarters. It was pretty much the coolest place I've ever stayed, so it's worth considering if you have any flexibility in your dates. I wouldn't be concerned about the construction given the location of the staff quarters in relation to the guest bures.
Some other places I checked out were Taveuni Palms, Qamea, Vatulele, Namale, Tokoriki, Matangi. I also hear good things about Navutu Stars.

We stayed at the Quadrant, near a park. Walkable to the quay and accessible by the airport bus, near Albert park which had a chinese new year festival while we were there. I want to say it was around $100/n. Nothing fancy, but certainly comfortable which was really all I cared about. They have rooms with kitchenettes, too, but we didn't need that with a 2 night stay.
