Thailand - night in the airport or hotel?

Hi ladies,

We'll be landing in Bangkok around 11:00 pm at night and flying to Chaing Mai the next morning at 7:00 am. Was anyone else in this situation? Did you find a nearby hotel to stay at or was there a good place in the airport to sleep?

I know there is a hotel at the airport but it's $200/night. We don't want to spend that much on a hotel that we're only going to sleep in for maybe 5 hours and not be able to enjoy.

It could be that they've raised the rates because of the time of year that we're going.

Ok, I think you're referring to the airside dayrooms in Concourse G run by Louis Tavern. I just found those so i'll look into them. Thanks!

We stayed at the Novotel and it was nice, but if you aren't there long it is pricey

Are you skipping Bangkok entirely? If not, then I'd see if you could delay your Chiang Mai flight till the evening. We flew in at 1am, stayed overnight in town (I think we paid $40 for an awesome place), had a day for a brief overview of Bangkok, and then flew out at about 6pm. It was a lovely day, and I'm glad we did that.

Otherwise, I'd just get the cheapest and closest thing you can find.

We're planning to see Bangkok at the end of our trip so it sounds like it's best to just stay at the airport in the cheaper 4 hour rooms.
