Going okay for me, though we didn't do much this past weekend (mostly house chores and getting stuff prepared for vacation). I did get a 90 minute massage yesterday, so that was nice! Only 11 more days till we leave!! (high5) <)
Looking forward to there not being as much rain this week, finally getting a break from the storms. We're supposed to go see a live band on Friday, then go to a friend's house party on Saturday, and a graduation party for my cousin's son on Sunday. Also, I realized we'll be gone for Father's day, so I need to pick up something this week to give dad early since they are watching our dogs for us.
My weekend was pretty good! Friday we went to a seafood boil place with a couple of friends. I ate entirely too much and had a great time!
Saturday we got up early to go to a mini, informal car show at a coffee shop with some friends. M's BFF has been trying to get him involved in his car club, but M's been resisting since his car is still stock. But he had a great time and met some cool guys, so I think he's reconsidering now. We spent the rest of the morning running errands and I taught a yoga class at a new studio in the afternoon. The owner of the studio offered me my own class, but I'm on the fence (I think there may be some drama at this studio). Saturday night we went to the tap room to see our friend sing.
Yesterday, I taught yoga and we hung out at the tap room. Came home to grill and watch GOT.
My only complaint is that my stucco seems to be bubbling and peeling off my balcony, which should not be happening yet. I emailed the builders of the house this morning, so now I'm preparing for the giant fight that this is going to be. I need to start researching who to have come out and look at this mess so I can have a little more information when I storm down to their office after they ignore my email for a while (pics and whatnot are posted on H&G if you're interested in seeing).
No big plans this week...I'm hoping it'll be nice and quiet.
Did you do anything fun this weekend? Well it was semi-fun. Our friends had their annual picnic which is always fun, but it rained so we all had to be indoors. It's also a collection of different friends, so you definitely have the different pods of people.
Anything you are looking forward to this week? Friday? lol
Any Monday vents/complaints/randoms? We're going on vacation on the 17th and I'm already starting to mentally check out.
Friday we went hiking at a state park about an hour away. That night, we went to see a musical that a friend was directing and then went out for drinks afterward at an outdoor martini bar.
Saturday was the Farmers' Market, errands, a quick hike, then seeing a Dave Matthews cover band.
Sunday was a super lazy day with sleeping in, another hike, and then just chilling on our patio drinking ciders.
This week, I am looking forward to my parents visiting this weekend.
I am not looking forward to temps of 100+ this weekend :?

Did you do anything fun this weekend? Not too much, lol. We are putting our house on the market this week so it was all spent getting ready. On Sunday, we had my nephew's birthday party and a coffee meet up with my ILs.
Anything you are looking forward to this week? I am seeing a friend today.
Any Monday vents/complaints/randoms? Not much. I am so happy that my house is ready. I've been working on it for a month lol.
Busy weekend! Friday was G's birthday, so I left work early met him and some friends at a bar, and then we all went to the O's game. Luckily the weather held out and it was a lot of fun.
Saturday we started packing up the kitchen and then went to our friends' annual party. They had a really great band and we did a lot of dancing and drinking.
Sunday we slept in, then went to a fancy brunch with G's parents. The rest of the day we spent packing up the kitchen and emptying the fridge. Our demolition started yesterday!

duff, your house is only a few years old, right? Good luck with stating your case to the builder!
OrangePixyStix, is HTX getting back to normal after all the flooding? My county got quite bit of damage, but nothing like down there! We had a few flooded homes, washed out roads, and the city park took a pretty big hit.
glw, I never noticed G's silver streak before! It looks so cool! I have a cluster of white hair on my right side forehead, and I'm hoping it looks as cool as his! (even though my hair is lighter)

I'm doing pretty good these days. Exhausted from work because I'm still short 1.5 people.
I intentionally didn't make plans for the weekend. I needed to chill. But we still managed to work out and get some things done around the house.
I'm looking forward to Saturday. A friend of ours is having his retirement party at some fancy place in Fort Worth, and they invited us to ride in the limo with them! It's over an hour drive, so we'll be good and wined up by the time we get there!
I decided yesterday that I should train for a 10K... I still haven't decided if I'm crazy or what.
He's had it since he was 8 or 9. I think it's very distinguished!
*goes and creeps on glw's facebook* I guess I never noticed it because he used to keep his hair short. He could totally be a superhero with that streak!

We're getting there, but some of the areas closer to the coast are still flooded since the rivers all flow down that way. I think it's going to be weeks before all the areas are flood-free!

Yep, we moved in six years ago next week. I was texting my neighbors about it last night and one of them reminded me that we got something in the mail about a class action lawsuit against the builders for things like stucco and concrete issues. I actually found the letter and have it with me, but I'm not sure if I want to go that route. It feels squicky to me.
But at the same time, I haven't heard anything from the builders...

Ick...sounds like a class action lawsuit might be the only way to get it done without having to pay for it outright. Best of luck dealing with that!

That was a lot of rain for Texas rivers to handle last week! I saw a video of The Woodlands from yesterday. It's unbelievable how much water there is!

Another vent/complaint/random:
I am so freakin' tired of the 'seeking mommy advice' posts I'm seeing all over my facebook timeline! Find an online community and ask those questions on there! If you want to ask your IRL friends, text/call them!
(I don't know if that includes anyone on this board and I don't mean to offend. I've just seen it from 5 different people this week alone! And it's only Tuesday!)

No kidding! I saw a fact sheet that stated just in the month of May, Texas had 35 TRILLION gallons of rain. For perspective, that's enough to cover the island of Manhattan 4 times, fill up California's 200 largest reservoirs to 3X their capacity, and enough to supply the entire world population with 10,000 days of water (if everyone drank 8 ounces each day).
People in Houston were comparing the floods to past hurricanes, only it was worse in general since we couldn't have predicted how much damage would be done (where as a hurricane gives you a week or so warning before it's anticipated destruction). I have already donated some clothing to the Red Cross locations looking to provide for those who lost everything, but I've been meaning to donate some other stuff like food, towels, and toiletries. We did get flood insurance last year when we changed home insurance companies, and I think we'll keep it on the renewal even though we aren't in a flood-prone zone, because it's just been too insane to risk not having that insurance down here!

I can't get over those figures! I would have loved to share all of this with California! I mean, it's great that it filled up the lakes that didn't reach capacity with the rains last May, but Texas is good for now. Storms, go west now!
We were in Vegas Friday night through Sunday night to celebrate our 10 year anniversary (a week early)
Monday we sold our VW Camper (going to miss it a ton but we weren't using it enough) and our kayak. Then that night, we had the craziest storm i've ever seen since we moved here in 2003. People 10 min from us reported their windows being shattered from the hail. Tons of damage all over but we escaped ok. Only our plants were hurt.
