Our Disney cruise gets back to port on a Friday. Our flight out is at 7am on Sunday. We're doing 4 days at the parks with 3 year old & grandma before the cruise. Given that, what should we do after?
1. Rent car at port after cruise and stay 1 night in Vero beach hotel and see Kennedy space center. Would mean we have to bring car seat for one day and switch hotels to the Orlando airport hotel the night before our flight.
2. Go back to Disney for 1 day at different hotel. Pluses are no car seat (can take disney's coach) and no switching hotels the night before flight because we can take magical express to airport the morning of the flight since we wouldn't have to return the rental car. My concern is we may be disneyed out by then (not me but my DD and my mom).
3. Stay at Orland hotel for 2 nights and just to day rental of a car for that Saturday. Downside is the airport hotel is pricey. If we do this Id probably trust the car seat from the rental car for the day.

From the research I did when planning our fall trip this year, Kennedy space center seems better for gradeschool kids because there are lots of informational movies/shows.
2 is my vote. Pick somewhere that has lots of stuff just to do at the resort. You don't have to go to a park.
I would do 2. And you don't even have to do the parks, just do the pool & Disney springs. If you really want to do a park, can't you just add a day then?
I would do #2 and stay at a nicer hotel with a great pool that I wouldn't normally stay at for a long trip.
this is my answer, too!! i would use the chance to stay at like grand floridian for a night, or Animal Kingdom Lodge with all the animals to see.... or polynesian with the really great new pool, or beach/yacht club with the Stormalong Bay pool someplace i might not be able to afford for a longer trip. just spend the day/night enjoying the pool and resort...
2. Yacht and Beach Club is great for a little kid IMO--the pool is awesome, there's sand for them to dig in, they do movies on the beach every night, and you can walk to the Boardwalk and see the street performers/get ice cream. You could also do a character breakfast at Cape May while you're there.

#1 would be a lot of hassle and driving. KSC is about 1 1/2 hours from Vero Beach.
I would go back to Disney hotel, & rely on their transportation. You're going to be pretty worn out after days at the park and the cruise, so it will be nice to have the full day Saturday just to unwind and lounge at the pool & do some shopping.
