Came out to my co-workers about our plans to cloth diaper. I was planning on just not telling them, but they are throwing me a shower and mentioned diapers and I just said "oh we don't really need any diapers, but thanks!" Tried to change the subject but then the questions started so I decided to come clean. I did not get flamed, which was surprising.
Most were encouraging and I explained how different they are now than they were 30 years ago.
I am keeping my plans to pursue a med-free birth to myself though, I don't think they could keep their opinions to themselves on that one.
People are so weird about some things. I mostly don't tell people we CD unless they ask what kind of diaper my kid is wearing. Then they usually tell me I'm crazy and that's it.
People had more opinions about my desire to give birth with no drugs though. Definitely not worth saying anything about that unless you have to.
Why did you not want to tell them you are using CDs? Or a med free birth?
I thought this post was going to be that you told your co-workers your were pg. Which would have been hilarious considering you have been showing for a while judging by your pics.

You should tell them about your med free birth! I found that while some people made comments a lot were really fascinated. I think talking about it makes it more mainstream (meaning people won't assume all of us are dirty hippies).

lol yeah that would be awesome if I waited until 28 weeks to tell, ha. No they found out I was pregnant a long time ago.
I have found that many people are extremely negative about CDing and med-free births. So in general I only talk about it with people I know are cool with it, which fortunately, many of my friends and family are.
I have not really wanted to have to defend my decisions to go against the grain to people that are very vocal about how amazing their epidural/c-section was and how gross they think CDs are. I know some of my co-workers are that type, so I just kept it to myself until now. Those "just you wait" comments are irritating as hell.
And this is where I realize how weird/different it is working with all guys: the subject of diapering (much less CDing!) never came up and I'm absolutely sure that they didn't want to hear about my birth preferences before or after the big event.

I am already getting weekly lectures from many co-workers about how dumb it is to not get the epidural (and they don't know what my plans are) I did talk about my childbirth class with them, but didn't say specifically it was a NB class.

I hated the "get the drugs" comments people would give me. I wanted the drugs, but I don't need others advice on how to labor unless I ask them.
You have quite the epic stash. :-) You should have taken a couple to work to show them off!
When I took DD to visit the office when she was tiny, everyone loved checking out the CDs.
yeah I mentioned the cuteness factor. I mean, how can they not be won over by cranky clouds??
Fact. I want to go to pugz's house and paw through your stash because I'm a creeper.
I just generally don't talk about those things at work, but I actually made a CDing CW friend randomly. It was nice. They're doing a shower for me over the summer, though, and I am hoping they'll do same the "let's all pool our money for one big gift" thing they did for her last year.
I get the not telling thing, though. I know my mom is going to roll her eyes over it and think it's ridiculous. Thank God for MIL...she CDed both her kids and was exclaiming about how cute they are now when I showed her ours. She still calls them rubber pants, but whatever.

lol you can come see my stash sometime Maybe once the nursery is set up and my house is not a total clusterfuck of baby gear strewn about. I really need to finish the dresser and have the closet system installed, right now there is no storage for anything. My whale tub and clothes and CDs and stuff are in a pile at the top of the stairs. I do have photos of my stash from a few months ago but it has changed a bunch since we found out it's a girl.
I knew they'd figure someone was up when they saw my registry so probably better I came clean They are throwing a shower for me next month.
lol, I actually do need a few, we'll have to send her to daycare with them, however I don't know what size she'll be at that time so we planned to wait to buy them.

I'll tell Ashley all the centerpieces need to be massive diaper cakes. lol.

I'm cloth diapering. I was supposed to go get some at the $1 diaper sale at Cotton Babies tomorrow, but procrastinated on tickets and now they're sold out.
I'm also considering a home birth. My coworkers probably think I'm weird, but whatever, they can judge away if they want.
