Thanks to some maaaaaajor unexpected home expenses, our 2017 trip needs to be scaled way back so we can replenish our e-fund. We're now looking at either using VRBO or one of the websites recommended on the massive Wyndham Bonnet Creek disboard thread to stay there instead of staying on property.
It will be DH, me, DD (turning 5 on the trip), DS (turning 2 on the trip), and my parents. We will have a car. I'm working my way through the disboard thread right now, but does has anybody here ever stayed there? Any thoughts or helpful information?
I stayed there. Great location and I think MK is the farthest away with 11-15 minutes drive time. It was fairly clean. I complained in the other thread about the tile floor not being the cleanest but my two year old didn't spend much time in the kitchen or bathrooms and I just wore flip flops. It was definitely worth it due to the amount we spent. We paid $118/night and booked through Vacation Strategy. We stayed in building 1, which is one of the older buildings, so next time I will request a newer building. The pools are nice but we didn't spend much time there. Definitely stay there and save some money!!
One tip I picked up from the disboards thread is how to override the air conditioner. I don't remember how but if you google, "disboards Wyndham Bonnet Creek air conditioner override" it brings up the post. Another is when you check in, the send you to a desk to pick up your parking pass and welcome kit. I read that that is where they try to get you to sign up for a tour so we avoided it. Never had any issues with parking or anything so avoid that desk.
