Methylprednisolone - bitter foul taste

I will ask my periodontist at my appointment today, but in the mean time:

Has anyone taken this and had a very bitter foul taste in their mouth even after teeth brushing and eating multiple times? It is so gross. Even my coffee tastes sad. I have to take it for five more days and I already am mad i have to lol.

Yes, I've had that lovely side effect too on prednisone. I was on it for 6 weeks. Everything tastes awful but the meds made me want to eat everything anyway.

I took it for months and months and didn't have this. However I have had it with an antibiotic (are you on anything else?)

I'd ask your dr but since it's just a short course I'd just power through. Honestly it has a lot of annoying side effects for people so if it's just a bad taste that might not be too bad.

My prednisone has a metallic taste so I don't actually touch it to my tongue-For the 6 years I've been on it I put water or coffee in my mouth, tip my head back and throw the pills into the liquid and swallow them that way so I don't taste it.

I'm on it frequently and I've never experienced a weird taste!

Yes, I started amoxicillin as well this morning. I thought it was the steroid because it started almost immediately after I swallowed it.

Probably the steroid then. It took a little bit of time for mine to start after taking the antibiotic. Good luck!

I was on prednisolone a few weeks ago and had that. Thankfully mine seemed to go away a bit sooner than yours (after brushing teeth or eating a few bites). I'm sorry-guess now is the time to only eat healthy, since the bad stuff won't be worth it anyway!

Metallic? IIRC yes, and was advised it gets worse if you try to rinse after. (It was a liquid, not a pill. But I also remember my h having a metallic taste side effect, and he was taking prenisone in pill form at the time, but I don't specifically recall it being that drug that caused it.)

Update: totally normal but unpleasant

Also update: my graft went fine. Headed home now.
