I was diagnosed with gastroparesis this week. I'm working on eating smaller, more frequent meals but there are many times that I just don't want to eat or that eating every 2-3 hours will be a pain. Are there any supplement or meal replacement drinks that you like? Preferably something in a bottle or can that I can just grab and go.
I'm sorry about your GP diagnosis. I also have GP, but I have an unusual case (delayed gastric emptying but zero symptoms until I get really sick and need a feeding tube). Are you on a special diet, like a low residue diet? You could look into Ensure or Glucerna shakes.
I also have Crohn's so I've been doing the low residue thing for over a year now. I'm eating primarily processed foods at this point but now I have to reduce fat and meal size too.
I have gastroperesis also. I drink optimum whey in the mornings, I usually throw it in the blender with coffee, a frozen banana, and spinach. I also do a lot of juicing since eating whole vegetables doesn't go well. I can forget anything high in fat or at least I know I'll pay for it later.
I take zantac at night which has helped immensely over prilosec which is what I was previously on.
It all sucks but once I figured out what I could and couldn't eat I stopped puking randomly and my heartburn got a million times better.
I lived off the Ensure, Boost, and Special K shakes for a while. I liked the ones with caps rather than cans that you pop open because I could drink only part of it at a time and throw it back in my bag. It was basically trial and error. I didn't bother trying to make my own because I was just trying to get needed nutrition and hopefully get rid of my heartburn.
I did try the smoothie route for a while, which I made with spinach and cooked carrots along with whatever fruit sounded good, but that even bothered me a lot.
Whatever you do, don't pretend like you're better all of a sudden and eat salads every day for lunch. Guess what, it doesn't go away. (At least in my case. I've probably been dealing with this since I was at least 8 or 9, but I never knew it was an issue until I was diagnosed a few years ago.) I make this mistake probably seasonally.

Another vote for Boost Plus - I ilke the very vanilla flavor but haven't tried the chocolate. I also like carnation instant breakfast, not picky about flavor.
Do not pass go with the Bolthouse Farms fruity (like berry or mango) protein-added shakes in the produce department. Ugh. Like a chalky Tums smoothie. I do Iike the milk-based ones, Vanilla Chai is delicious. And the regular fruity ones are good too, but don't have as many calories.

DS has gastroparesis and when he's in a flare we do avocado banana smoothies made with coconut milk. A small glass is loaded with calories and healthy fat. It sounds kind of gross, but it taste really good. Good luck! Have they discussed medication? DS was on reglan when he was really bad. He eventually got better, but whenever he gets sick it flares up. GL!

I like syntax protein powrder s because they are fruity. You can't do a grab and go but it's s nice change freom chocolate or vanilla. I also like Click Protein powder the mocha or carmel flavor. I make it like iced coffee and get the caffeine kick. You can also make it hot in the cooler months.
Another vote for orgain. My daughter has GP also and uses it to make a smoothie. She throws in extra protein, bananas, strawberries, and honey. She purchases at The Vitamin Shoppe. If they don't have it in stock, you can order it online and it ships for free.
I'm sorry for your diagnosis. My daughter has had it since 2010 (though it took a over a year to diagnosis) and it really is a life altering illness. At one point, a flare up was so bad, she was on TPN for several months. She's had a gastric stimulator since 2012 (and just had it replaced, as the battery died) and it's been a huge help.
I have gastoparesis, also. Since I tend to tolerate dairy well, my favorite grab and go is Carnation Instant Breakfast. I also like adding vanilla Optimum Nutrition whey powder (I get it at Costco) to my fruit smoothies.

These aren't meal replacement drinks but the ensure clear juices are pretty good. Only 200 calories but I use them to make sure my husband gets enough calories per day (he's recovering from a traumatic brain injury)

I take erythromycin. I refuse Reglan for the same reasons. My GI is perfectly happy with me taking the erythromycin as needed. There are similar cardiac risks as the Reglan, but not the irreversible muscle tic risks. Have you talked about that as an option? It's pretty much an immediate effect and relief on my stomach.
umm... kind of butting in here because I don't have any gastrointestinal issues (except when I'm extremely stressed), but I do have food aversions. When I don't want to chew but still need protein and nutrients I go for Kefir. I used to be able to eat yogurt, but even that got to thick for me, so now I just drink something like this:
