Also, it said they might take Paint the Night away! Nooo! Possibly to switch it with Main Street Electrical from WDW. I love PTN. Looked like the once the diamond celebration is done the fireworks may also change back to what they were.

Thoughts?

IF PTN LEAVES BEFORE WE GO TO DL IN NOVEMBER I WILL BE SO ANGRY.

The Disneyland hotels are so expensive, I can't ever see us paying those prices. Especially because there are so many decent walking distance hotels nearby. But seeing pictures will be fun. I didn't realize that the Grand Californian was 20 years old!

We are renting DVC at the GCV this fall. While it's more than a studio at DVCs in World - it' cheaper than a room there or the DLH I think. If we went more regularly we'd probably stay at the good neighbor hotels but this is a once in 10 year kind of trip.

Whaaaaaat? Paint the Night is amazing! I need to make sure we see it when we go this summer.

Also, I know it doesn't make financial sense, but we stayed at GCL last year. I loved it. I think we're staying at DLH this year.

The Grand is not 20 years old. It opened in 2001 so it is only 15 years old!!!

Oh please please please PLEASE get rid of Paint the Night!!!! So many people would be insanely happy if they brought back MSEP; we were not happy when they relocated it to WDW.  PTN causes so many congestion issues along main street and it is pretty boring.  

The new hotel is going to be built in the parking lot of Downtown Disney right next to the Rainforest Cafe. It is not slated to open until 2020.  My inside source is waiting to see if they file plans to add villas to the new hotel.  I am hoping that they do.

I'm excited for a new fancy Disney hotel. We love to splurge on them for special occasions and it'll be awesome to have another option.

I'm not a Paint the Night fan, but I adore the Electrical Parade, as does the rest of my family. These are great changes, and I'm always happy to see when they switch things up.

I'm excited for the Electrical Parade to come back! I used to lay in bed at night with my discman and listen to the parade song, lol. The location of the new hotel is a bit annoying, for selfish reasons. It's where I drop off the kids when they meet my parents to go to the park.
