Not true for me! Looking back at pictures from my pregnancies, I looked much better when I was pregnant with the girls, than with DS. My skin was a wreck with him.
People say such weird things lol. For the record, nobody told me this after I had my girls, which is good. I would have been mighty pissed off if they had
Seriously, tell a p/g mom or pp mom that they essentially look like crap. I did start getting gray hair after having my daughter though. Here I thought it was age, but it may have been my daughter stealing my beauty.

Well, while technically I *look* better with this pregnancy ( and I have stayed healthier..ie no pre eclampsia or PIH) I have gained MORE weight. I have no idea how I am going to bounce back but I suspect any quickness in that process will be the result of also chasing a toddler. During my first pregnancy ( girl) I had an old lady tell me that she could tell that I was having a girl because they "steal your beauty" I seriously cried..thats a shitty thing to say to a pregnant lady!
I've had 3 girls so I must be hideous now if this is true...maybe I am & just in denial--lol. But really I don't think so--Everyone says I still look the same as I did in HS in amazement...HS was 20yrs ago.
Kidding. I had some acne in first tri, and I feel Jessica Simpson huge already. My face feels pregnant. But my hair looks awesome. So, it could go either way.
I feel like the only appropriate way to judge this is to have a PIP bump thread.
It's just an old wive's tale. Though I will admit that it has proved oddly true among my group of friends (not after, but during pregnancy--the girl mom's have tended to put on more weight and have tended to gain all over as opposed to the basketball belly thing).
I've heard this saying before. I have 3 girls and looked the same during my pregnancies. I had no issues losing the weight with the first, but this time around it's been challenging. I chalk that up to me being older and not exercising.
I'm telling you people do say this. That having a girl is more difficult i.e weight gain, bouncing back etc. from then a boy.
Not true for my mom. I was her first, and while she gained a lot of weight (mostly water weight), she got her body back very quickly. By her 3rd kid (boy BTW) she was taking quite a while to get back into shape.
I only have a girl, but my fat face did make me look ugly towards the end of my pregnancy. A friend is noticing her hair and skin are worse during her boy pregnancy than they were during her girl pregnancy, so I say OWT.

People guessed constantly that I must be having a boy because I looked so good (AW) during my pregnancy. To the point that some crazies assumed that someone got it wrong and that it wasnt a girl. That I might be the small percent that would be surprised at birth I had to tell them "amnio, 100%"
Brie - I saw your HDBD (I lurk on September every now and then since I'm due 10/1). You look good. My bump is pathetic mainly because my ginormous boobs overwhelm the appearance of everything else.
Thanks, dude. I feel generally huge, but I guess that's kind of the point right now.
A CW remarked today, "you're really blossoming nicely, aren't you?" and I was like . I felt like she was going to start talking to me about getting my period for the first time or something.

This for me as well...tons of acne w/DS, clear skin w/ DD. I also gained less weight w/DD.
My skin was horrible during pregnancy with my DD but is much better now. And I had no issue with weight gain during or loss after pregnancy. So partially true maybe?
I looked better during my girl pregnancy- I gained less weight overall and had less health issues (had pre-e with DS that made me swell really bad). I have a feeling that the "stealing the beauty" part will come in her teenage years- I can see myself losing a lot of sleep over this one... Bring on the gray hairs!

Well it may be an old wives tale but it was true for me, granted I was two years younger.
With DS, I gained 40 pounds, but all in my stomach and the rest of me stayed cute. I had a huge basketball out front, my skin was glowing, I still exercised a lot, no real fatigue or morning sickness.
With DD, I also gained the same but I gained a lot of it in my arse. I looked like a watermelon, my skin was dry and dull with age spots and I was tired.
