My H and I went camping last night. It was fun to disconnect and sit by a fire, but we slept terrible. The weather was great yesterday but the humidity last night was pretty sticky feeling.
Around 4am we both couldn't go back to sleep. I looked at my H and he said, "We might as well just go home, right?" I laughed because I was thinking the same thing but wasn't going to be the one who brought it up.
So, we decided to pack up and head home. We were in bed by 5am. I feel so lame, but I was out within minutes of hitting the pillow so it was worth it. LOL

Awww, sometimes you just need your own bed. You obviously didn't do what I did, which is just get so sloppy drunk you pass out anywhere in the tent that will do at the time and sleep until you have to pee.

shelly, it's okay to mention kids over here, we aren't as nasty about that as some people might think. I can understand wanting to be close to home for that reason, though, if only in case of an emergency or something.

I LOVE camping until its time to go to bed. I can't sleep, have to pee throughout the night, and if I do fall asleep I wake up bathed in sweat from the sun baking the tent. Not worth it.
I remember camping being fun, but only because there was tons of booze and a fire. I now opt for bonfires at a friends house and sleeping in my own bed.

Totally agree. I hadn't been camping in ages but this is what I told MH before we went. I'm a light sleeper so it always seems like there's something to distract or keep me awake, and I like my sleep too much!

No lie, I have made D take a battery operated fan, mister and dvd player before. I don't do outside sleeping in the summer. A couple times we had to come home also

I haven't been camping in forever. I actually sleep really well in a tent, but the last time I asked D what he thought of camping, he said, "I'm against it."
