He was denied access because of his behavior, not because of his chromosomes. Also, one side of the story. Tooplusalso, why does it matter that they upgraded to first class?
I really HOPE this is just the family overreacting or trying to find an excuse to sue. Of course there is two sides to the story and we will see what happens next. The picture makes it look like he was calm. Did anyone watch the video?
Interesting. I'm a FF with AA. Not sure what to make of this. The article is pretty one-sided, and I suspect if you got AA's side of things, it might sound different.
ETA: I did watch the video, but it only shows a few minutes of activity. He's eating his hat. Not exactly aggressive or worrisome behaviour, certainly.
But, a few seconds of film doesn't give a full picture of his behaviour prior to that.
The pilot has the final say on who is allowed on board and who isn't. From what the video has on AA's side of things, the pilot observed behaviour that had him worried about on-board safety.
I am also wondering if there is more to the story? Of course the parents are going to be all "my kid was perfect" but AA isn't going to want lawsuits or bad publicity? (presumably?)
But I don't like AA because they completely, unapologetically, ruined a bunch of pots I made after forcing me to gate check them and told me there was nothing they could do to make sure that the bags was handled with care. So, don't think I am sticking up for them. Just don't think we have enough info.
