I'm swimming tomorrow morning, but I have no plans other than that. Which is amazing. We're off mandatory overtime at work, even though we're still behind, because the owner realized that we were all getting burnt out.
Other randoms... I've finally managed to get back into my not-as-fat clothes, and it makes me so happy!
DH has been making trips to Lowes for the past couple of days to buy materials for us to "fix" the deck off the back door before we have inspectors wandering around the courtyard for the office build. That is our main focus for the weekend. I am not expecting to finish it this weekend, (heat and rain will interfere, and it is a lot more work than DH thinks it is), but I think we can make some good progress if DH goes into it with a plan of attack other than his usual 'start without thinking of the logical order' way of doing home improvement.
It was pulled away from the wall and cut back when the big tree that it was built around was removed, so for now we want to fix the structure but keep the old decking so that they don't see the current condition....we don't want to get cited for having a visibly unsafe deck.

A huge storm blew thru Thursday night. A massive, massive tree fell onto a mansion that is on the National Register of Historic Places. Millions of dollars in damages, including priceless artworks. I told them LAST YEAR to remove the tree. Oh well.

People are dumb. So very dumb. And if their insurance finds out they knew the tree was damaged, they'll be on the hook for that money, no?

IDK, mrs.jacinthe, my guess is it would still be a paid claim. There is also no record of me examining the tree or speaking to the owner, because it wasn't a job. They didn't hire me. I just happened to see the tree while I was on a house and garden tour of the property! I was very alarmed by the tree and went out of my way to pass along my concerns, but clearly they were not acted upon.
