Thread lol

Let's start with the fabulous one. I have wanting to get a brazillian blowout FOREVER. Well the place I go to offers it for $250. I called and scheduled for Friday, but two minutes after they scheduled, a special popped up on fb for 30% off of all chemical services. I want highlights and the brazillian. That is 30% off of it all. Freaking amazing. Totally made my day, and now I am going to book my mani, pedi, and eyebrows for Friday too. Woot woot

Now for the bad news. As you know, I had my Tysabri infusion last Tuesday, and unfortunately I have been experiencing so side effects. No biggie, because I knew that going into it. The problem is under my right arm my lypmh node is so big, I am talking larger than a tennis ball, and now i have pain radiating down to my hand. I called my Dr, and have to go in tomorrow. It hurts so bad, but I hope it's not a really bad sign. It is certainly not good...

I just talked to my mom, and something is wrong w/ my dog. Not really my dog, as much as my parent's dog, but we adopted her when I was in HS so she feels like kind of mine.

She's not walking at all, just laying down. My mom has to carry her everywhere. She's not crying, or acting like she's in pain, but not walking. They're on their way to the vet, and my dad's out of town. Times like this I hate that I live so far away.

Also, I think I'm emotionally incapable of dealing w/ this kind of thing. I'd rather just not know, so I don't have to be sad and worried.

I have no idea, and you are probably right, but I know it is not good whatever it is. Hopefully it will be magically gone by morning.

That will be super cute. My hair is already blonde, but I want to add a few lighter highlights in too

Why do cats like that? Warmth? One of my jackasses tries to lay on our laptops, and pretty much any box that she does NOT fit in. They are contortionists and find their way into any box.

Sorry to hear that Bon. I don't know why the lymph node would get so inflamed so fast but the symptoms in your arm and hand may be from compression on the brachial plexus by the inflamed lympf nodes. I don't know anything about the treatment you are receiving but it sounds yuck. I hope you get good news.

THanks I wasn't even connecting the two things, but then when I was explaining the symptoms to my dr, I realized it's the same arm, and happened at the same time, so it seems like it might be related.

I'm going into my final year of double majoring in Biology and Psychology (so I'm getting a BSc). Thank god my first class on Thursday is at 3:30pm if this is the flu.

What are you going to do with that? Psych and Social Studies to teach is what I got my degree in. I love psych!!

I'm either going to get my Masters in psych or go into a 2 year accelerated nursing program next year. I want to work/volunteer for a bit after that and then eventually apply to medical school. (I'm young so this timeline works for me - haha!).

Teaching is also a passion of mine but I would like to do it at the post-secondary level, if possible. What grade do you teach?

No worries, i like stalkers. lol I am going for PTA, Physical Therapy Assistant, and then going on to get my doctorate to become a full fledged Physical Therapist.

I majored in Psych once, lol, but never finished. It is so so interesting to me

I know I'm more of a lurker, but I thought I'd jump in here. I had a swollen lymph node right around my arm pit. The thing was massive and just popped and grew for about a week. I freaked the heck out, and immediately thought the worst, just because cancer loves to torment my family.
The docs ordered an ultrasound of the lump and took a biopsy of the area. Turns out it was just some sort of clogged duct in the lymph node. My doc said the clogged ducts were somewhat of a common thing, but most don't get that big. They felt mine was due to some undue stress on my body from an injury and illness. Yours is probably the same sort of thing. I hope they get everything taken care of for you. :beer: :drink:

Thank you! That is very reassuring actually. I don't think I would worry so much if it wasn't for the immune suppressing infusion, but maybe you are right. It is probably just a coincidence. I am going to try not to stress about it too much tonight, because nothing can be done right now anyway. It is at 12:45 tomorrow, so I am sure my mind will be put to ease after that.

Dumb question though? Did you shave the area before going in? I haven't been able to shave it, because it's so big. A tad embarrassing, but I know i shouldn't be concerned with that.

It is NOT cancer. I will virtually guarantee this for you. Tysabri suppresses your immune system. The most common side effect is infection. Viola!

Is your infusion site on that side?

That is really cool. It is hard to get into here too, but it will be totally worth it. This semester I am taking my last few electives. I am taking Philosophy and Medical Terminology. Exciting stuff lol


Ohio, thanks, I should find out tomorrow at my appt, unless i have to get further testing. Either way, i should find out tomorrow, because if i need to do cat scans or whatever, they will just send me downstairs.
