Dear person(s) that say they will never let their LO use their phone,
Come talk to me when you have the stomach bug and are home with your kids. I am so thankful my DD knows how to use my iphone. I am sick and have no energy to entertain her. So she has quietly been playing Dora on her phone for the last hour.
These were recalled due to moisture issues ruining phones!
I don't let my DD (16 mos) touch my phone or my iPad. She's a fucking loose cannon dude, I turn my back for two seconds and that thing will be in the toilet or smashed to smithereens. I don't want her messing with my shit, or melting down every time I (god forbid) want to use my own phone.
That said, if she could be trusted in the car not to throw it, or could sit still for longer than 5 seconds, I would let her use it. I will revisit this in the future.

My technology rule, is they can play, as long as they are calmly (and quietly) sitting with me and playing it under my supervision. Otherwise, they can play with their own toys (although Amelia only wants to lick things right now, so I don't bring the phone/ipad around her).

SD loves using the iPad. She plays with coloring and letter/spelling apps. Her fine motor skills grew by leaps and bounds after only a few days of playing with it. That said, I don't let her have it all the time, and when she muted it and it took me 2 weeks to figure out how to fix it, I wouldn't let her play with it for a little while.
