because of your obsessiveness with all things beauty product related. Not stupid at all. Funny. I kind of love you!
lol love you back  I realize i come off as an airhead, but i am minorly, or majorly obsessed right now. It really started, because after all of my treatments i looked like shit. Like really. No color, white as a ghost, and sickly. Then when i started to feel better, it was kind of something i could do to make me feel better about myself. I don't know if that makes any sense, but yeah lol

It says formaldehyde free! lol Probably not any worse than blow drying and straightening every day.
Oh. Hmm...so what's the difference between a Brazilian blowout and a keratin treatment? I have so much to learn.
I asked the salon people today, and i am still not completely clear. I think they base it more off of why you want it, or the look you are going for. I think one is better for curly hair. I don't have curly hair. I just have a wave or two, but it looks ridic so i have to straighten. It would save me so much time in the morning, if i could eliminate that from my morning routine.

Tators, i have tried that, and it is cute. My hair is an odd length right now. It is shoulder length and layered. My hair is super thick, so it looks stupid at this length. I am trying to grow it out again though.

Ahhh....that would make straightening my hair so much easier! But then I couldn't just wash it upside down, spray hairspray and wear it curly/wavy.
Yes, but i don't have that luxury. boo I have like one or two waves, so it's hideous lol To make mine look cute I have to either straighten or curl
Mine was on its game today. I usually straighten it or use the curling iron if I have time. My mom wore wigs through most of my adolescence and no one took me aside to explain fashionable hair though. So it's always really simple.

I'm a lurker but got a Brazilian Blowout last summer before a trip to Thailand since they have 1 million percent humidity there.
My hair is thick, naturally wavy, and frizzy. Daily routine involves blowdrying for about 25 minutes and then straightening. If i get hot and sweaty, I get frizzy.
After the blowout, I still had to dry and straighten but it STAYED that way. Even if I was sweaty, my hair stayed beautiful. In Thailand my hair was shiny, smooth and beautiful. I loved it. I even took my kids to an indoor water park, my hair got partly wet and it didn't frizz, I was amazed.
It lasted for about 12 weeks, I bought the special shampoo, conditioner and serum. Those products cost almost $100 in addition to the blowout. I had the formaldehyde-free version as well and have a pretty 'crunchy' hair-dresser so I know she wouldn't work with it if it wasn't safe.
I will absolutely get it done again, once it's in my budget. Hope that helps!

Thanks, that was a great review! I am glad you liked it. I was hoping it would actually last for the 12 weeks. We will see

Will you be able to curl your hair with a curling iron or will the curl not hold after you've gotten the treatment?
That I am not sure of. I don't like to curl it at this length anyway, but it is a good question to ask. When it grows a few inches, I will love to curl it.

Yes, you are able to still curl your hair. The blowout is not a straightening treatment, it simply is a protectant on the hair. It keeps it smooth and frizz-free. If your hair normally holds curl, it still will but without frizz.
My hairdresser actually said it's very good for the hair, since it basically coats and protects the strands of hair. The more times you get it done, the longer it will last.
I've had the Brazilian Blowout and keratin treatments. It was life changing - from 40-45 minutes post shower for blowdrying/flatironing to 7-10 minutes. I can also just wash and go if I want. I use barely any hair product. My hair also holds curling iron curls better. My natural texture is very curly, and my hair is thick.
Keratin lasts about a month longer for me than the BB (16wks v 12), but is a pain in the butt because you can't wash your hair or style it in any way for 3 days after they put the solution in.

Lurker here. I had one last May. I agree with PP who said you still have to dry/straighten but it stays that way. The only thing I didn't love is that my hair didn't curl well after that and was pretty flat. But I just teased it. I was in a wedding in October and the hairstylist remarked how my hair wouldn't hold curl; that's super abnormal for my hair. I used the shampoo, conditioner, and styling cream so it also may have been that.
