I am so mad and sad that a majority of the people in the UK have voted to get out of the EU. The following years are going to be chaotic and uncertain in every aspect.
My UK friends here in Brussels and in the UK are disgusted and afraid of what will come.
I haven't slept, hoping that at some point, the results were going to turn... But populism and fear mongering has won.
We're back in the middle ages. My big concern is that nationalists in other countries will put leaving the EU on the political agenda.
I have been putting my rage over this on ML. I need to stay of the internet and go home to my Scottish boyfriend who is 1) working on getting a Belgian passport and 2) hoping for Scottish independence soon. I'm sure we will have a stiff drink tonight.

I'm right there with you. My H works in the financial industry in London and this could have repercussions for him. And for a lot of people in London. And the EU. And England. It's so short-sighted of people, and I think the political people for the leave campaign truly fucked the country with their lies to the ignorant people.
I just got home after spending the weekend with my BF watching BBC Four for the entire weekend. It is just a clusterfuck. People are now openly regretting their vote to leave (calling it "Bregret"!) and Boris the Clown admitted that they lied about the 350M£ per week that they were going to invest in public healthcare! But they did print that blatant lie on the side of busses...
Did you see the signs of horrible open racism against Poles and Roumenians?

I'm hoping that with all the uproar that in November they vote to remain. We haven't actually officially 'left' as it's just a referendum versus a vote. The politicians have to vote for this in November and could go against the 'public vote'. I'm truly hoping for it.
