It’s finally happening: the Disney Vacation Club has run out of Deluxe Resorts to expand upon, so it looks like they may be turning their attention to their first moderate resort, which in fact, fittingly, was Disney World’s very first moderate resort.
The proposed new location at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort would be at the southern edge of the resort, wedged between the existing hotel and Disney’s Pop Century Resort along Victory Way.
It is unknown when construction might begin on the proposed project (it is still pending final approval at this time), but it is expected to be the next Disney Vacation Club resort constructed after the new expansion at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
On one hand, It makes sense because I imagine there's a lot of people that want to buy in direct, but not at the poly or Hawaii price point.
But I kind of hate than anything new they build is DVC.
I doubt they will make it cheaper because then people could pay less but still book normal $$$$$$ DVC resorts at 7 months. Making a room low points like AKV value rooms would be the easiest way to have people buy in with less points because it's a 'moderate' but then they still can book other DVC villas with those points they just probably would have less then someone buying in at a resort that takes more points.
Interesting. I have never stayed at CB but the resort looks massive. Can't imagine adding another section. Now that I have realized how easy DVC rentals are I am all for building more!!
