XH picked DDs up today. They're going to Canada for the next few days and I won't see them again until Friday and I already miss them. Sometimes I just really miss the little buggers.
I had a really weird dream this morning. I just finished work and had to use the bathroom before heading home. I walk in and 3 out of the 4 stalls were either occupied or out of order. Our HR person got to the free one before me. This stall had a phone in it and she said she had to make some HR related calls. Odd. So I wait. And other people come in and wait behind me. A stall opens up and someone steals it from me. Then, our security guard comes in and he said there are some kids who need to use the bathroom so he then lets them in front of me. THEN, some men start coming in to use the only stall that seems to be working. At this point my bladder is about to explode and I start yelling. The security guard is like "Well, these kids can't hold it" and "men don't take as long", excuses, excuses. I yell that, although I'm an adult, I can only hold it in for so long and start dancing around, crossing my legs, anything to not pee my pants. Just then, my alarm goes off and wakes me up. I realize that I really do need to go to the bathroom URGENTLY!!! It was so close, SO close!!! Thank goodness my alarm went off otherwise, if I had made it into one of the stalls in my dream, I likely would have peed the bed (no, I was not drunk and no, there was nobody else in the bed to wake up to my "almost" puddle).
It always funny to me to have pee dreams. I peed the bed as an adult on a light sedative but that was 8 years ago. Even when I woke out of surgery, I told the nurse I had to pee. And then again in the elevator. AND THEN we got to my room. She finally was like "oh I guess you really have to go!" Uh yea! I was just pumped full of fluids!
I am attempting less negative talk in my head. Two ladies were talking about how this job is all their spending money or 401K money and their husbands pay for everything. I immediately was jealous and then my friend tried to say "they likely don't even like their husbands" and I was all "No, we should be happy for them that they are afforded this life style/chance and that it makes them happy".
I had a really bizarre dream about my coworker and cupcakes. He had them lined up all over his desk. And he was eating a huge piece of cake that looked delicious. Hmm... haha.
God, the Mondays just keep on coming don't they? lol the weekend is never long enough.
I'm so antsy to move in with BF, I'm tired of the back and forth each weekend. And us staying at my place isn't an option and I wouldn't want to, but I'm really looking forward to just living there and not having to pack up my stuff all the time. I am worried about where I'm going to keep my makeup because both the master and guest bathrooms are small and have pedestal sinks. #girlproblems
@lemonlover - good for you! I love her to death, but my mom is a fairly negative person and I find myself doing the same thing and I really need to be more aware of it and stop doing it.
TR not going to lie bathroom counter space is a major deciding factor for me with hotels and renting or if I ever buy.
I have been avoiding the scale because I know I need to lose weight, but I don't feel awful or self conscious, so I was choosing to remain blissfully ignorant. I finally had to step on it for a work thing I am doing and found out I am at my heaviest since 2008. My knee has been hurting more just from walking, so I knew it was likely, but still upsetting. I don't hate my body, but damnit if I don't hate that stupid number.

This is unacceptable. I passed over a rental due to this! They have thingies you can put on either side. I'd find a piece of wood (or get lowes to cut to size) and paint it a coordinating color for the top most basket so you have some "counter" space. My BFF used their third bedroom as her make up room/craft room. After a year, they put in a larger sink/counter and she went back to the bathroom.

Hmm...I'll have to measure in there. The master is a reeeeaaaally small bathroom. I could fit something more easily in the guest bathroom, but it might be annoying being relegated to that bathroom to get ready all of the time. It will definitely take some planning! And we'll likely only be living in this house through the end of the year so it won't be permanent.

I've lived in small places, but they all had regular counter sinks or cabinets in the bathroom!
I'm sorry you're feeling down about the number on the scale. I'm right there with you, but I'm pretty happy with my body in general so I'm telling myself the number doesn't matter. I'm fairly fit and I'm ok with the fact that I'm going to gain a little weight as I get older because I'm not willing to diet hard core, lol.

I am definitely not at a healthy weight, so I need to do something. I just don't have the normal insecurities that comes with being overweight, I feel confident at the pool in a swimsuit and all, but I know my knee are paying the price and I am not the healthiest I can be. I can already tell my metabolism is slowing down as I am getting older and it sucks because I have to put in major effort to lose even 2 lbs a week. I know I will be happier with my health and if I am already happy with my body now I am sure 30-40lbs from now I will be thrilled, so might as well get on it.

I was chatting with a guy on POF last night (he contacted me, I'm not actively looking to date). I mentioned I work from home on Mondays and he responded "working in your sassy lingerie, having pillow fights..."
Uh. No. And he is exactly why I am not actively looking to date.
1confused1 gross!!! Why so they do that??? I'm trying so hard on the weight loss train and I feel like nothing is happening! I eat perfectly according to my macros, I'm at or below my calories, I'm eating clean, I'm drinking water, I've cut waayyyy back on drinking and I'm doing three heavy lifting workouts a week. I'm so frustrated! I'm starting to see more definition but the scale and inches isn't budging. I've been at it for about four weeks. What gives???
I fell asleep on the couch watching zootopia last night, and when I went to roll over I fell right off the couch...onto a water glass. I'm lucky it didn't break but I have the biggest darkest half moon of a bruise on my love handle that hurts every time I move. Cute!
@pdx18,have you been measuring your waist/arms/legs? At some point, you're going to start putting on muscle and losing fat. Muscle weighs way more than fat. So the scale is a dirty, dirty liar.
We were out of town for the weekend, so of course it went too fast! I'm still getting used to working slightly longer days (10 hours instead of 8). It's been a couple weeks since starting the schedule. I'm a little tired, but I think I'm still adjusting. The big advantage is that it's a 4 day work week.
I am beginning to browse online for a new car. I really enjoy having an SUV so I think I'd like to go that route. I haven't decided what company I may want to go with though. Anyone have an SUV that they love? I've always owned a Honda and most recently a Nissan and I like them both, but I'm not opposed to changing.

I have a Chevy Tahoe that I love love love. But it is like driving a tank.

Guys online seem to be jerks generally, however I see no alternative to meeting people. I sent a message to a guy last night who seems cool, I hope he answers.

I've had pee dreams in the past, too. Luckily, since I've been an adult, they've only been "almost" pee dreams. When I wake up in the middle of the night to pee, I'm always praying "Please let me actually have woken up!"
DH and I went to a pirate festival on the northern Oregon coast this past weekend. This was our second year going, so I still don't know the way without a GPS. Last year, our Garmin sent us one way on the way there, and a different way home. The way it sent us on the way there took 30-60 minutes longer than the trip home. This year it sent us on a totally different route there, which actually ended up being the best route, because I got to avoid the scary bridge that goes over the Columbia River at Astoria. On the trip home, I went the way we had gone on the trip there, but the GPS kept trying to send us the same way it sent us home last year. I ignored the voice commands, because once I got on the highway, I knew the way. However, the GPS kept giving me directions to turn around as soon as I could. The distance between Astoria and the next highway I needed was approx 40 miles. The Garmin kept giving me directions to turn around for about 35 miles, when it finally re-calculated to the route I was actually on, I only had about 3.5 miles until I needed to switch freeways. Technology, making your life easier!
@lemonlover , yep I've been measuring and no difference there either! I'm hoping my body will adjust and just surprise me one week! haha
I started a new routine the first of May and am just starting to see results now (almost 8 weeks later), it's slow, but just stick with it. Maybe you need to add cardio as well as weights?

I am also discouraged about my weight. I have been earing better and exercising for 3 weeks and I don't see the scale budging that much. I am measuring and I don't see much difference either. I am focusing on the fact that my sugar levels must be improving and that my heart and lungs are benefiting from what Im doing even if I stay at the same weight.

doglove, my body doesn't respond super well to cardio. It just makes me totally ravenous sadly. I also pretty much hate it hahah. I do walk pretty much everywhere for errands but it's not like at a super fast pace. But the weighlifting program does add some HIIT in the next phase so I'm hoping that helps. I do wonder if maybe I need to eat more? I average about 1300-1400 calories a day and by the end of the day I'm practically choking down food to make it to that.
I seriously need to get back into a workout routine. I've lost all motivation in the past year. And, I like food too much. I refuse to give up any food group. I need to do what I did 5 years ago and get to the gym 3-4 times/week, run at least 1-2 times/week (between running group and 5/10ks) and eat in moderation. I wasn't dieting then, but I ate smaller portions and not too much junk. I know I can do it, I've done it before. I just need the motivation.

I track my calories but I mainly focus on lower carbs and higher protein. I found carb cycling helps my blood sugar levels. So it's not the calories that count but the nutrition behind the calories.

Possibly depending on your activity level throughout the day. Cardio does make you hungry because it gets your metabolism going, which is just a normal side effect. If you have lots of protein, healthy fat and fiber in your diet though that should help you feel fuller for longer.

Yep. That's why I said I'm tracking my macros. I'm at about 33 percent carbs, protein, and fat. Most of my carbs come from veggies and then about one serving of whole grains a day. I don't eat any packaged foods. I've done the really low carb thing before and it didn't work with my particular body.

Yea I eat about 115grams of protein a day, plenty of healthy fats and nearly double the recommended amount of fiber. I just don't love cardio and have never really gotten results from it and no I won't stick with it. I can't imagine I won't lose ANYTHING though eating perfectly and lifting three times a week. I'm just like come on body! Budge!
