Hi hopefully someone can help me out. I don't use pesticide based tick control for my dog because I don't want it near the baby or my maybe soon to be conceiving self. We have a really small apartment and its impossible to segregate him effectively. I wanted to see if anyone here had first hand knowledge of natural tick repellents. I've seen garlic pills, citronella collars, etc. Any input?
I give him a thorough brushing and tick check whenever we walk in wooded areas but I'd like to keep the fuckers off if possible without the use of pesticides.

We use vetri, as recommended by one of the regulars on here who is also a scientist. Its all natural and smells a little strong, but you spray them down every day or two and rub it into their coat. It doesn't work 100% for us but has reduced the # of ticks we're pulling off of them (we also use frontline but they have to bite the dog for it to work, so still a risk of lymes transmission)

Another highly recommended product is Ark Naturals Neem Protect Spray. We used it for about a year and never had problems with ticks, but I found a couple of fleas on B once and went back to Frontline. We still spray the Neem before going places where there might be tall grass as an extra precaution.

A friend gave me Neem and I spray Davi with it anytime we're going camping just for extra protection on top of what she's on, and I've never had a problem with ticks!
