clothes?
I have had to buy summer clothes and will need to start buying clothes for the fall soon. I know that I can't commit to being the weight I am now. The weight loss is from grief and although I would love to maintain it and keep losing, I'm guessing it won't happen. I had weight loss surgery and had gained almost all of it back.
So do you just buy clothes for the weight you are now and hope it stays the same but keep your bigger sized clothes too? I had donated all my clothes from when I was at my heaviest because I would like to believe I will never allow myself to weigh over 300lbs again. Do people have clothes in their closets that significantly vary in sizes?
I did check out thrift store for the first time and found 1 pair of shorts and 1 tank top that I bought. I've never worn strangers clothes before but I understand that a lot of people thrift store shop now and their isn't the negative connotations to it that there were when I was a young.
Keep all the clothes until you level out. And buy as you need. Definitely hit the consignment stores and thrift stores!
This. I also keep most of my clothes so when my weight drops or increases in have clothes in that size. It is a bitch but works. I have sizes 4-14 lol.

If you have space, I would sort things into rubbermaid tubs (I use ones like this because the lids are attached and can't be misplaced) and label them by size so if you fluctuate a lot, you can know what size is what. This is the system I use for my kids' clothes since I hit up the thrift stores a lot. I am always surprised by what I can find. I know I have a hard time because I need petite stuff, but I find tons of dresses and I usually layer leggings or tights under them for winter if they're not too summery.
If you need more clothes for your current size, you might also try thredup.com - it's like a fancy, online thrift store. It was really helpful for me after I had WLS and need LOTS of clothes.
Usually I can get away with wearing the same tops as long as they are loose and/or stretchy material. For pants, I look for material with stretch, and I keep three sizes of jeans on-hand, for when I am small, medium, and large (for me).
