Good morning, ladies!
Today is our 9-year anniversary. We bought a new 12" skillet (Swiss Diamond) to celebrate. Living the dream!
Also, I'd like to relay the following conversation we had a few nights ago on the porch (talking about putting in our "orchard" and garden this fall):
R: Well, we could get full size apple trees instead of dwarf, but what would we do with all those apples? We can't make apple butter because you can't eat it (added sugar). Me: We could give them away. R: I guess. Me: (Joking) Or we could throw them at passing cars when they speed or honk at the school bus for holding up traffic or whatever! R: (Very sincerely) Well, I guess. But that would get expensive. Me: ? R: (Still very sincerely) We'd be buying an awful lot of jars. And I presume people would notice a jar of apple butter slamming into their car. **long pause** Me: OMG, I meant to throw apples. Not jars of apple butter. R: Ohhhh! That makes a lot more sense. I was wondering about the logistics with the apple butter. Me: **Uncontrollable laughter** /fin
I have 14 weeks left of pregnancy and SO MUCH H&G TO DO. I'm so tempted to just hire someone to fully finish painting our basement. The contractor did the ceiling work but I saved the walls for myself (and they need work, like re-spackling to hide bad drywall seams).
We had an inspection today (now they can pour the foundation!), and the inspector was one who has been to our house several times. He is my favorite of the inspectors...picky, but fair and really, really helpful and nice.
He did the final inspections on our kitchen, the fence, and maybe the studio, but he hadn't seen the fence stained until today. It didn't take him long at all to check the site and give his ok, but after he finished he spent a lot of time telling DH how much he loves our fence.
I had a 25% off your entire purchase coupon from Michael's that was expiring today, so I ran out to see if I could find some frames for some of our art. I got four frames and two double mats for less than it would have cost for 2 frames at regular price. Not too bad.
I also got this little bench on clearance for $20 (originally $69.99) from Target.

My spouse has been trying to get this new job. It would be a $60,000 a year increase in his pay. We haven't been able to tell anyone, because it would ruin the opportunity. I've been on pins and needles for 2 weeks, waiting to hear if it goes through. Found out today, he got it. (gift) <)
