So the end of this school year, I left the school system to work full time for a preschool. I definitely need a break from the system. Well today my boss said she wants me part time instead of full time. I'm shocked, annoyed and angered. I'm shocked because I made it clear that I needed a full time job. I'm annoyed as DCF won't accept my teaching certificate because it's in higher schooling and I need to take courses in infant toddler classes. Which is why she wants me to be part time. And I'm mad because she basically made it seem like she doesn't want me to come back in August.
I don't know what I'm going to do and I feel so stuck.
I would start looking for another job just in case. My sister is a teacher and legit worked at a petsmart for almost two years to take a break from teaching. Have a frank discussion of "Hey I gave up a full time job for this FULL TIME job. Now I am going part time, I just don't see a future here for me. Are there any steps or actions that I can take to become full time again in the near future (Aka by August)?"
That's guys for your responses. I am leaning towards going back to the school system but I can't hide the fact that I'm burnt out. My new beau thinks I should take a job in the school system as support or secretarial. But I need to make about what I'm making now and I don't for see that happening with these entry level jobs. I'm definitely looking again but I'm so upset about it.
My mom worked as a full time sub. She made about 1200-1400 a month on subbing. Is it possible to sub and tutor on the side? This way it's just 0730-1530 and no take home responsibilities?
